So young at 38, but he is impressive. What a story! Raised in a poor, single parent home, in Camden. Injured and saw his chosen path in life closed off to him. His talent was appreciated by his head coach and he took the chance to be a GA and made a successful career. I was impressed by his direct and honest talk. No posturing, happy talk, or BS. He is all about personal responsibility, caring for others, and working as a team. No stumbles, like's, ums, or circular statements. Well done.
Maybe add him to our list of future head coaching prospects? BTW, that head coach he talks about who thought highly of him, and gave him a chance to coach when his football career was ended by injury, was Joe Paterno.
He mentions his old position coach, Larry Johnson, as a great influence. Johnson by all accounts is one of the most respected coaches we ever had.
Matt Rhule saw something in him. He worked for Rhule at Temple and Baylor.
Imagine working under Joe Paterno, Matt Rhule and Jimbo Fisher. Not a bad resume.
Best of luck to him.
