Don't mean to make one play speak for the entire game, but there was one play where Abdul soaked up the blocks of the LT and LG while our DT looped around the end to create QB pressure. (Sorry for all abbreviations - my keyboard is low on virtual ink.) That's not a quantifiable (i.e., stat) item.

You realize WVa will probably be a top 10 rushing offense in the nation....now look at the stats again and do some critical thinking. First time in 2 years they were held under 140 yards on the ground and it as 85 yards....so apparently the ENTIRE UNIT did it's job.
I get that the team played great. CJF said #11, as an individual, played great. I didn't see "great". The stats did not show great.
Not saying he is not any good, just not a great game (especially for a PSU #11 and pre-season All-American).

Cool, I cannot wait for your actual breakdown...I bet it will be in depth too. How many snaps he won, was double teamed, kept contain, dropped into coverage.....it should be a thing of beauty. You know the things that people getting paid to do actually do. I know Durant's sack was due to Carter being doubled and pretty much splitting the double team IIRC.

My breakdown was on post #58. Did you miss it?

They were in the top 5 last year with 70% of their team back. Losing the AA center will hurt, but it was still a decent amount back...something like 15 of the top 20 players returned. There rushing yards will go up all year long in the B12 as well. Top 10 may be a bit of a stretch this year, but they can run the ball well....so.....

He drew a double team on MANY plays and then created opportunities for other players. That doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but it was dominant.

Glad drew them... and maybe it was a double team that he beat once to get that tackle.
I would think great would beat the double more than once. Him eating up doubles is significant. Him beating them even more so.
