Will have a story up later, but Penn State is headed back to the Black Knight Invitational at Army in September.

Flo had an article today (linked below) that indicates the following teams will be at the Black Knight Invitational:

Participants: Army, Binghamton, Brown, Buffalo, Gardner-Webb, LIU, Michigan State, Northern Colorado, Penn State, Rutgers

Now that the BB schedule is out any insight into BJC wrestling in January and February?

Would think we’d be wrestling a second western team while we’re on the coast.

Perhaps:

California Baptist: they released their schedule and PSU is not on it
Stanford: they have not yet released their schedule
Cal Poly: they have not yet released their schedule
Cal State - Bakersfield: they have not yet released their schedule
Utah Valley: they have not yet released their schedule
North Dakota St: they have not yet released their schedule
South Dakota St: they have not yet released their schedule
Air Force: they released their schedule and PSU is not on it
Northern Colorado: they released their schedule and PSU is not on it
U. of Wyoming: they have not yet released their schedule

South Dakota State would be great. They just opened a new wrestling facility, why not help them pack it? Plus the relationship with Berge, and a thank-you to Hahn for allowing Berge to return.

From a recruiting perspective, a trip to Stanford makes a ton of sense. Cormier is building a powerhouse at nearby Gilroy -- including heavies Cody (2024) and Coby Merrill (2026). Cody teched the field at Fargo including Mirasola, and is uncommitted. Also Daniel Zepeda (2025), who dominated Bassett before pinning him. Plus a few others.

If we hadn't locked up Lilledahl, then maybe Arizona State for Christian Castillo (2025). But now, unlikely for recruiting purposes (but possible for competition).

Otherwise, there aren't good recruiting reasons to schedule anyone west of the Rockies or the Upper Plains. A few guys in Colorado who look decent but would need to step up to be in Cael's range.

Expecting the schedule to be out within the next two weeks. I know that’s a vague time frame but is the word on the street with no finer timeline available. Personally, a football bye week release would work for me!

Cael and the boys have been in Europe for a week. Just returned now so he can move focus from NLWC to PSU varsity for the next six months.
