Do you guys know how lucky you are to be in the Cotton Bowl? If the SEC West wasn't "down" or "comepetitive" which ever you prefer, you guys would be in the liberty bowl. 4-4 doesn't usually get you in there. You guys only won ONE more SEC game than we did, and we easily could have beaten LSU. There are three 3-5 SECW teams. You guys are very fortunate to be where you are. I wouldn't call it disappointing to be in the Cotton Bowl. You shouldn't even be disappointed to do what you guys did. Nutt always lays an egg when expectations are high. You should have already known that.
I hope OK ST beats the every living **** outta Mississippi!
As you should.
Yes, we're fortunate to be there with a 4-4 league record, but it's still a Cotton Bowl bid, and when people look back at it 10 years from now, it won't look any different than when we went in Eli's senior year.
You don't look back at your 1998 season and say how fortunate you were to be in the SEC title game despite losing 2 league games, including one to a division opponent by 5 TDs do you? It's the same deal. We backed into a Cotton Bowl by losing our last game, but in the future, it'll just be a Cotton Bowl appearance regardless of how it happened.
