I think he got one with the Cards? Agree, he was one hell of a player.Slick was my favorite player on those 90’s Pirates teams. He played hard and spoke his mind. He epitomized the hard working, no nonsense Pittsburgh way of life. I appreciated how he played the game and wish he could have gotten a ring with the Pirates.
Think he was part of the blown call at first and team that lost to KCI think he got one with the Cards? Agree, he was one hell of a player.
This was after Van Slyke apparently told Bonds to move in just prior to the hit and Bonds responded by flipping him off.For the years he played in Pittsburgh, he was the heart of the Pirates.
Good hitter, great defensive center fielder with a cannon for an arm.
Lasting memory of Andy Van Slyke was him sitting in center field after his "teammate", Barry Bonds, couldn't throw out Sid Bream from 200 feet away from home plate in Atlanta.
Just so I understand. You didn't have a team that you cheered for, but instead cheered for the Pirates to lose?I loved watching those Pirates team lose in the 90's! With that said, I loved Andy Van Slyke. He was from the area where I grew up. He was a legend there.
