Nice effort by our guys. The established guys looked very solid. Brooks is bigger and more ripped, if that is possible. But like David Taylors ascent to the top of world freestyle, he is really, really big. Brooks has that same look. The younger guys basically met expectations. Gary is going to wrestle hard but we are out classed there. BB looks way better at the lower weight. I didn't know what to expect from SVN, but he was both slick and brutal. BearClaw continues to get better, what a battler. Facundo, hard to tell. I hate to say bad things about college athletes but the LH guy looked likee they pulled him out of chem lab. They had some guys who really battled, while getting throttled and there were others who were tackling dummies. Someone used the term in a prior thread, sorry for ripping your term, but it described some of the LH guys.
It was hot and sticky in the gym. While there will be a ton of speculation about Haines, I don't think we need more points at 157. The crowd filled in pretty nicely on a really crappy night. The drive home to Edinboro was brutal. For about an hour outside PSU, the wipers were on full blast and I still couldn't see much of anything. Fog and torrential rain. Usually when I am up at 1 pm, it is a potty call. Penn State needs to rethink traffic patterns on event nights. I would shutdown Park ave East and have 2/3 lanes heading out of campus. Drive everyone into campus from College Ave area where you could either stay on college or work up to the BJC/Pegula.
We were contemplating where they were going to put the 2022 banner. What we didn't realize was at the west end of the gym they put a brand new rack to hang from the rafters. Plenty of room for banners.
The football game today will be a complete mess.
