No Starman or Berge tonight........just a rumor. Dont wanna get yelled at for putting fake news out there. lol
I suspect many believe in the importance of dual meets and I’m included in that group. I love every match and that’s how it’s determined who gets seeded where at Big 10’s and NCAAs. But until we’re through the precautions, illness, protocols, etc., I’m okay with sitting these guys. I don’t worship the coaches, but I certainly trust them - running the program and respect their judgment. Can’t wait for the meet to start! I’m pumped!

Keep in mind it’s ALL about the Big Ten Tournament and really Nationals. Seeding comes from dual meets tho….

Byers interview with CS. Summary of questions, and then summary of the answer preceded by a hyphen

Exciting to have a home event of this magniture
- only a big match with Ohio State. Several weekends in a row with big matches. Our guys just need to be ready to go

Talk about the matchup at 125
- tough matchup. 2 AA candidates. Just got to go do what we do.

Big opportunity for Beau Bartlett. Talk about what he needs to do
- score more points. Go get that TD. He's been wrestling some close matches, but he knows how to win

Talk about Edsell
- he's been patient, and another opportunity for him to compete. We'd like to see him wrestle well.

Mason Manville, a neet opportunity
- I don't know the last time he put a singlet on for us, but he knows how to wrestle, and this is his last year

Talk about the importance of this weekend
- Two really dangerous teams, especially on paper. With guys out of the lineup, we have to go wrestle. If they don't, we're going to be beat, so let's go.

Based on Sanderson's interview with Byers, sounds like Manville will indeed wrestle both matches this weekend.

Byers: Starocci should be back for Big Tens, but outside shot for Rider. But, thinks they'll hold him out until Big Tens.

Ray Santiago the head official

125: Drew Hildebrandt (DH) vs. Malik Heinselman (MH)

Tough one to start the dual. Heinselman is dangerous (and good)

Per 1
MH tried a 2-on-1 to a duck, nothing. Now he's in on a head inside single, DH grabs an ankle, and a stalemate with 1:42 left. MH kind of shoots, nothing. 1 min left. Dh sort of reaches, nothing. End

Per 2
MH has top, defers, and DH takes bottom. He's up and out in 7 sec, 1-0. Collar ties and hand fighting. 1 min left. MH reaches, DH re-shot, MH sprawls but DH has a leg. They are on the edge, then MH grabs an ankle and they are OOB with 34 sec left. No shots after the restart. End RT @ 7 sec for MH.

Per 3
MH takes bottom. DH throws in a boot, and he's stretching MH out. MH is flat. Stall warning on MH. RT goes over 1 min. 30 sec left. DH not close to getting a tilt, but he rode well. End. With 1:53 in RT, it's a 2-0 DEC

3-0, PSU

133: RBY vs. Brady Koontz

Per 1
Koontz sort of shoot, nothing. They are both active early. RBY drives in and gets a TD, 2-0. He basically cuts him, 2-1. Koontz reaches and gets a leg, Koontz tries to work up, but a stalemate with 2:07 left. RBY in right off the whistle with a double for a TD and then he cuts him, 4-2. RBY tries a duck a, but abandons it. Koontz gets a leg again, RBY sprawls, and a stalemate with 1:12 left. Koontz controlling RBY's wrist for a big which slows him down. RBY with an inside crotch and spins behind for the TD, 6-2. He flattens Koontz. End. RT @ 51 sec for RBY

Per 2
RBY takes bottom. He works up slowly, then back to his knees, then up to a 3-pt stance, and he's out, 7-2. RBY with a quick shot and nearly locked a cradle but loses it, 9-2. He cuts him and Koont is hist with a stall warning. Koontz in on a leg, RBY sprawls, and a stalemate with 59 sec left. RBY sort of shoots, nothing. He sort of shoots again but is blocked. RBY with a lighting quick go behind for the TD, 11-3. Koontz to his feet, and returned. And he's flattened again. End. RT @ 1:05 for RBY

Per 3
Koontz takes neutral. RBY with an Olympic start but then works Koontz nearly to his back, nothing, but then he gets him to his back and Koontz is in trouble, and there's the pin @ 5:31!!!!

9-0, PSU

Thankfully, during my pathetic wrestling career, I never got hit with the assassin. It looks quite uncomfortable. For that, I am grateful.

141: Nick Lee vs. Dylan D'Emilio (DE)

Per 1
Lee gets a single to a double as they go OOB, 2-0, with 2:27 left. Caution on Nick on the restart. DE works hard, and he's eventually out, 2-1. DE tries a reach, Lee counters and nearly gets a TD, they scramble, then Lee gets a leg nd elevates and gets the TD, 4-1. DE had a whizzer but Lee was relentless. They are on the edge, and OOB with 1:01 left. DE not as active on this restart. DE starts to work up but Lee brings him down and flattens him. End. RT @ 1:50 for Nick

Per 2
DE takes bottom. He tries a roll but Lee stays with him. DE to his fee and he's out, 4-2. Lee in on a head inside single, DE with another whizzer, Lee elevates and gets behind for the TD, 6-2. DE flattened again. Stall warning on DE. End. RT @ 3:19 for Nick, so it's locked.

Per 3
Lee takes bottom. He's up and out in 6 sec, 7-2. DE shoots, Lee sprawls and spins behind for the TD, 9-2. Then he cuts him, 9-3. DE in on a leg, Lee reaches around and works behind, and gets the TD, 11-3. Nice D by Lee. Stall gallon DE makes it 12-3. End. With 3:54 in RT, it's a 13-3 MAJOR for Nick Lee

149: Beau Bartlett vs. Sammy Sasso

Come on Beau. let if fly.

Per 1
They reach reach, nothing. Beau looks active early. Sasso tries a fireman's, Beau sprawls, and nothing. Sasso controls the arm out of that but eventually it's free. Sasso with a double from center field but he gets in, they scramble, and a stalemate with 51 sec left. Sasso shoots, Beau sprawls, nothing. End

Per 2
Sasso takes bottom. He works up to his feet, Beau trips him down, they are on the edge, and a stoppage for a stall warning on Beau for hanging below the waist. Sasso up and out, 0-1. Beau reaches, nothing. Sasso shoots, Beau sprawls, they scramble, then Sasso comes up, and Beau hands on to an ankle, wild scramble, and the buzzer. RT @ 25 sec for Beau

Per 3
Beau takes bottom. He works up slowly, then down, then up again, Sasso hanging on the side but gets Beau back down, Sasso nearly too high, Beau stands and has the angle, and Beau gets the reversal, 2-1. Sasso to his feet, and he's out with 55 sec, 2-2. RT not a factor. Sasso shoots a double, Beau grabs the ankles, Sasso in good position but Beau hangs on to the ankle, but Sasso finally slips it and gets the TD with 6 sec left, 4-2. End. 4-2 DEC for Sasso

13-3, PSU
