It's a month old, but I don't think anyone else has posted this yet: Joey Bachmann Day 1 Recruiting Video from Flo.
It looks like PSU didn't call him on Day 1. Maybe we did after Flo left? Also, Cornell didn't make the video but he has been there (not sure if it were an official or unofficial, but he's visited and taken the singlet pic).
Note:
- Brands learned his lesson -- called Bachmann personally, didn't delegate to Bobby Telford ... from the University of Iowa.
- Not that it mattered, Bachmann is much more laid back than Knox. Rey called Bachmann after midnight, and Santoro called again during the day. Bachmann didn't really care that Rey called first. Of course he knows them all from training at LVWC, but it seemed like he was much more grateful that coaches called, than concerned about the title of the coaches who called.
- Big party at Casa Bachmann. A lot of his FCA teammates were there, along with several others from Malvern, NJ, etc. Looks like they all slept over. Then 2 practices the next day.
- Bachmann was impressed that Brands called after midnight. But he cited Missouri as the call that excited him the most.
- Bachmann has a really good perspective. He understood that for some of his friends, just getting any calls or texts on Day 1 is a big deal, and was happy for them.
- Bachmann said he didn't want to commit until after NCAAs, so he could see how the teams performed -- not team scores, but how the individuals performed.

- The Bachmann basement where all the kids trained as youth is about the width of my doorway. (I live in a townhouse.) It makes the Bassett Compound look like Versailles Palace.
- Before the calls started, Bachmann said he'd do 10-12 visits. Waters told him he'd only take 4 before he got tired of it. Next day, after the calls poured in, Bachmann said he'd do 5-6 visits.
- Brands told him: I'm 57 and you'll kick my ***.
- Tan Tom blantantly trying to recruit both Joe and Fred, said he and his brother were roommates at Syracuse. Bachmann replied that he didn't want to live with his brother. Oof.
- All of the coaches seemed to be just regular guys on the phone, except one. Bormet completely misread the audience, tried the psycho intense coach routine. It went over like a fart in church.

Once Blaze committed it seemed like Burnett coming was a real possibility. Getting him and Sidun to hold down the lightweights after LL and Blaze move on or up in weight would be pretty nice

Ready for the angry mob but I'm reneging this. For the record, I don't expect him to land at Oklahoma State either (nor back at Iowa) Likely to a school many didn't think was possible during the recruitment process.
Based on what I heard before, I expected it to happen by now even if there wasn't a timeline. Hindsight 20-20, shouldn't have been very shocking based on how the recruitment was handled that things could change behind the scenes.
The ship has sailed and the coaches have moved onto 2027 targets, which is loaded with lightweight studs (our biggest needs)
Once Bassett decommitted from Iowa, did PSU expect him to decide before Miller's officials?
It just seemed immediately obvious that he would piggy-back off Miller's recruitment.
Burnett is a cut above a pretty deep group of juniors in the lighter weights. Open up the Ohio pipeline, Tommy Rowland’s son is a blue chipper starting his freshman year - that would sting OSU just a bit

After the Iowa decommit and subsequent rumors on why, it just seemed like the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze.

Along with passing Gable, one of Cael’s quiet goals needs to be getting that ruggedly beautiful state its first NCAA champ. And while off-topic, some other “halfway” (to next March) notes:
-exceptional freestyle season
-all dramas to back burner, some leaving the stove altogether (?)
-above average lineup head-scratching topics
-standard silliness of 4-timer talk that’s absurd until first is won
-little Bo from mountaintop to afterthought
-great upcoming hike and first-time visit to North Cascades NP

Pretty sure the furthest NW is a few from Utah ... unless we count David Taylor being a youth wrestler in Wyoming before moving to Ohio.
Or if we count Wittlake (Oregon) surprise committing to PSU without being recruited, and later flipping to OKST.

Zach Seyko is acting like the PSU dynasty is going to crumble if we don't get Bassett and Miller. Seyko is a great guy, but needs to slow down. He is ridiculous at times.
