First of all I will admit that I know very little how the RPI and SOS is all figured in but I was on a GA Tech board reading and the poster was writing about the different teams. I assuming he copied and posted the info and added his take at the end. His take on State is we had a cup cake schedule and are not worthy to be in a regional and his take on USM is they are great. Now I am not saying State is good but he made these statements and if you look at the stats listed in the post Ga Techs SOC is 65. USM is 88 and ours is 50. Plus we have already beat USM. Why is our schedule consider a cup cake or is this guy a idiot? I hope the link works.

we played 10 games against national seeds. That is almost 20% of our games.

We played 7 series against teams that are in the NCAA tournament. And of the teams that didn't make it, LSU, OM, and AU are a hell of a lot better than Maryland, Duke, VT, BC, and Wake--5 of GTs series.

Im not even going to get into USM's schedule its so pathetic.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">vs. NCAA Teams</span>
Mississippi State played 23 games against NCAA Tournament teams, went 9-14. Mississippi State played 10 games against national seeds and went 3-7.
Southern Miss played 18 games against NCAA Tournament teams, went 10-8. USM did not play a national seed.
Georgia Tech played 26 games against NCAA Tournament teams, went 16-10. Georgia Tech played 7 games against national seeds and went 3-4.
Austin Peay played 2 games against NCAA Tournament teams, went 1-1 (Belmont). Austin Peay did not play a national seed.

Georgia Tech is the better team, that's why they are hosting. But MSU won just as many games against national seeds as GT. USM's schedule is a joke, but at least they tried to play some decent OOC games (Alabama, MSU, Ole Miss).

MSU- 31
GT- 25
USM- 20

Just another way to look at it.

The guy is an idiot and has no clue. Boyd's World analysis pretty much bears that out.

get all this love for USM. I mean they are a good club, but not great. Hell, Kendall Rogersfrom Perfect Game told me they wouldweone of the top teams in the SEC this yearif they were inour league. That is just insane. The guy lost all cred with that statement.

While I don't doubt they would have been in the thick of the race, I don't believe they would have won it. Playing the SEC schedule every weekend would have taken its toll. aGAIN, they have a good team, but I just don't think they would have survived the schedule.
