bitching about anything as far as he was concerned.

And didn't he catch a pass and beat a defender to the goal line to score in the Egg Bowl?

I was at the Egg Bowl and our o-line was dominated that game. Anyone who saw the game will tell you that.

that's a function of him getting a ton of carries from the Wild Hog formation, where the direct snap to McFadden put all the attention on him. Personally, I think Jones has bust in the NFL written all over him, at least as far as first rounders go. I look at him as another Dave Meggett/Brian Mitchell type.

every team should be in the Wild Hog formation for their backs to have great seasons. No doubt having McFadden there helped, but his numbers dont lie...as many of you love to say- "they faced 8 and 9 man fronts"</p>

I dont have him as a top 10 back either, but he had a phenomenal season- and maybe the best ever for a back-up </p>

I dont think there is any question Dixon underpeformed last year...but that is just it, he underperformed. Which means he hasnt played to his full potential. We should all be able to agree on that. I was also frustrated with AD's lack of vision last year. This was illuminated by Ducre's ability to find the holes when he was in the game. If AD takes those routes - he probably goes for 1400 last year.

I think he will "get it" and tear it up this year. I think he will finish school as a bonified stud college running back - but I do not think he has a whole lot of NFL promise, unless it is at FB.

as was pointed out earlier, that he four first or second team all SEC linemen in front of him either.

It's not the formation that makes it, it's the fact that the ball is getting snapped to Darren McFadden. When all 8 or 9 guys pursue him, the cutback lane was there for Jones.

Of course, I could get video of all 11 other coaches saying Dixon was a good back, and Mel Kiper touting him as a possible first rounder, and you still wouldn't change. Not because you believe a word of the drivel spilling from your brain, but because this is your hobby. Glad we could entertain you.

I'm not arguing that Dixon doesn't have the talent to be a good RB. Or that he didn't show some real flashes of that talent in his first two years. But he definitely underperformed and has never really committed himself to becoming a good RB. It was obvious last year that this frustrated the hell out of Croom. And it should frustrate the hell out of all of our fans, like it obviously does Coach and me. Yards per carry may not be everything, but when you have the WORST yards per carry of any of the top 10 rushers in the SEC (and by well over a full yard per carry), it has to mean something.

i'm glad you guys love Dixon. I really like his toughness as well....

Buttttttttttttt, from an actual production standpoint- not so much. We have very average RB's and all the actual facts point to that.

</p>Jeff Weinberger....is that you?

running back...Or will he still be below average cuz Coach34 says so. Maybe we should get Stansbury to find his true position.

But if he continues to play like he did last year, he'll never get even a sniff from them.</p>

the big 3rd and 10 versus Bama, it's that draw. Also, watch Norwood's game winning touchdown aGAINST Florida, it's the play aGAIN.

That play is our Packer Sweep. I bet we practice it 100 times a week.

The poor bastards life centers around arguing on the internet when he's not practicing for the upcoming fantasy draft. What a tool. </p>

EXACT same play. Fake wide, counter inside on the draw. Going back and watching those highlights make me realize how special Norwood was. Nobody has swivel hips like him.

Bottom Line - AD is a damn good RB !!!

-CD is a pretty good back.

-We have to see what RE and WB do.

Not only were Jones and McFadden really talented, but every since Nutt took over at Arky they cranked out NFL lineman and thousand yard rushers, and they were inventive in the run game. Dixon ran behind a mediocre offensive line and into a stacked box every play. He can't be expected to get 5 yards a carry when Carroll can only throw it twenty yards down field. If there is one thing Croom can do it is coach and recruit tailbacks and we have one of the better backfields in the SEC. Go watch last years South Carolina film before we lost momentum and listen to the announcers get off to Dixon when he is running over folks left and right.

I'm guessing that Dixon and Ducre' tag-teamed C34's mom and he's venting his frustration out.

</p>Or he is just fishing for an argument(which he got), and does not care how idiotic he looks(which is obvious)

</p>let's recap:

I say we have average backs- and back it up with stat after stat

You guys say we have "one of the best backfields in the SEC" and "Dixon is a good back" when we were last in ypc and 9th in rushing TD's. Dixon had the 2nd most carries by a wide margin, yet was barely 7th in rushing....

Its apparent who looks idiotic, and it aint me....

</p>considering my Mom died in 1992 and Dixon and Ducre's yards per carry average, she was probably the only thing they could catch to tag-team...
