It seems to have degraded as the season has worn on, even as our offensive line has performed a little bit better with pass blocking. Announcers noted several times in the game last night that he bailed on a clean pocket. It’s like he has a timer in his head and even if he’s not under pressure he just takes off and ends up throwing on the run or throwing the ball away.

Don’t know if it’s fixable at this point or if it’s just who he is as a QB.

He has arm strength and can make good throws but his lack of awareness and elusiveness is a killer when there is any pressure.

I think he's outperforming his coaching. you give him time (any time) and an open receiver, I trust he can hit them. The scheme just seems messed up at the moment. no continuity - nothing to build on. A good QB can still only run the plays that are called.

I think he is actually a little better than he was at the start of the season. He still needs to stay in the pocket more but he is progressing.

Hmmm, I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder! I actually think he was better at the start. I recall in the first game of the season thinking he looked quite natural and comfortable in the pocket. Now he seems skittish to me.

It drives me crazy when he rolls out, has time, can't find the anyone and throws it away (including 3rd down). I don't mind the throw away but he has another second or two to find an open receiver before he gets hit. Hang in there and see what opens up before chucking it out of bounds.

There was the one play highlighted by the announcers in the second half on Saturday where Rattler had a clean pocket, Vann was as wide open over the middle as any receiver ever has been in college football, just standing there waving his hands. Rattler bailed on a clean pocket, drifted right but thankfully Vann followed him and Rattler finally saw him.

He's improving, despite hitting conference play and stiffer defenses. He is converting to a pro style offense that is complicated, compared to what he had at Oklahoma. If he hopes to play on Sunday, he's got to learn it. I've seen him try to bail out, then remember to stay in the pocket, that was still there.

First of the season, if he stayed in the pocket, he was staying a second too long and taking the sack. If he saw a potential threat (not immediate) he would bail. He's getting more confidence, and should improve.

If he can connect on some consecutive passes it will free up Lloyd for some big gains.

He reminds me of Tajh Boyd. He did not like being hit in the pocket and he would bail at a "drop of a hat."

I wouldn’t say he shies away from contact. He doesn’t seek it out like Garcia did, but he doesn’t slide a lot either.

I agree that there are aspects in which he has improved. Pocket presence and looking for the shirt easy throws have not improved. I do believe he does not put the ball in danger like he did earlier in the year.
