What I don’t understand is this. If a fan wants to see freestyle wrestling, why wouldn’t we just go to the national team trials or the U.S. Open or Bill Farrell and such? There are plenty of tickets for those.

Or, is RAF saying that their product is better? Is it really better? In what way is it better? If it is better, then how come I have never heard of half of the people in RAF?

I’m not trying to make a point. I really want to know the sales pitch of RAF to the customer.
I think it’s a weird blend of motivations. Willie seems to influence a lot of the match ups, and he’s in it for the best in mat product. I think they are cultivating a USA vs World thing. But then you get the Henschel matchup which is all about activating a demographic for eyeballs. The PSU vs Downey storyline is also with that as a driver I think. They’re trying to apply the lessons of story, marketing and production from WWE & UFC to wrestling, while maintaining a purity aspect too. Jury is out on whether it will work. But seems like a serious try, with substantial backing, which is refreshing in a way.

They have not. I get paranoid this time every year thinking I missed the email. I spoke to the ticket office yesterday and they said invoices will be sent later this month.

FWIW - I'm a season ticket holder for a different D1 school and I just got the email yesterday about renewing . . . so at least one other institution is on the same loose schedule.

FYI, "when do season tickets come out" is an annual joke on the PSU boards, because of the number of season ticket holders who every year got nervous. Been that way for at least 15 years.

Next will be parking questions/complaints.

RBY has been pulled from the card with an injury.

And Bo Bassett was signed and will wrestle on Nov 29 RAF 3 Chicago
Does that make Bassett a "professional" now? He is getting paid to compete. Or are they paying him to "promote" like they do with the NWCA All Star classic wrestlers?

Contracts for athletes in college and high school read they're paid to promote the events. And they're not paid to compete.

What's the Varner Downey match look like in the third?? I predict dancing bear and lots of sucking of wind.
