I just did a home inspection for a sweet elderly UK fan here in Florida. She has memorabilia all through the house and a flag out front. She said she is disgusted with the state of the program and that her mother, who lived to be 105, never missed a game on TV and would sometimes set her alarm if she had to, in order to wake up to watch. She said she was optimistic about Pope when he got hired but that he clearly isn't up to the job. I even tried to console her with the upcoming football season and she said "I don't know anything about football."

Just a reminder that the trolls here do NOT represent BBN IN. THE. SLIGHTEST.

There are so many things that go into coaches and job searches and fans don’t know about most of it.
I don’t believe that the UNC job is as attractive because of the conference affiliation and uncertainty of the ACC’s future. It’s already become Duke and the rest in basketball.
If the SEC decides to expand, it could be the death of ACC football as a P4 conference.
KU is still in Kansas and that hurts the appeal unless they throw insane amounts of money around. Imagine Todd Golden telling his wife and kids they will be moving from Gainesville to Lawrence?

Look, I REALLY REALLY want our team to succeed, and I'd love to get a new coach, but it's not going to happen for at least another year.

I don't believe that Pope will succeed, but I damned sure want him to, so I'm going to try to not to get nasty to the point that it will hurt recruiting.

The job isn't bad. It's actually a great job. Passionate fans that will travel in waves, the best home attendance, and an NIL budget that will rival any other program.

Mitch Barnhart telling fans that Pope was the best he could do was a clear reflection on himself. Blaming fans for the current state of the program is pretty shortsighted. Whether you still believe in Pope or not, it doesn't make anyone a better fan.
