It fits the narrative of certain students going there that can't get into other universities. Ones that do that on national TV.
You're supposed to overlook that because it's Ole Miss and that makes it different.
1. But this guy did it right to a camera and he knew it was televised
2. If other fans so it so much, why don't we see it?
3. This school says things like "culture" without any sense of irony or making a punch line
Good lord, we are really going to argue this?
Why can't everyone just accept that kids in college do dumb things in the moment and a camera being on them captures some of these moments?
1- there are many examples of this exact scenario- just Google image search and use a few different search terms.
2- I bucketed this as a 'dummy college thing' and was saying you could put any number of collefe colors on that kid and it would be believable, but that doesn't mean kids from every college are doing this constantly. It just means college kids do dumb/regrettable stuff on camera at games all the time and so if I read that this was a kid from FSU or TexasTech or Illinois, I wouldn't think twice.
I guess I should have pearl clutched in my first post and declared that I have never experienced something as offensive and disrespectful as that what thst young man did on camera. I should have also declared that MSU students wouldn't ever do anything similar to this because they were all raised right.

I think Mississippi State University still has the largest on campus enrollment, but Ole Miss in recent years has been adding the enrollment of the medical school in Jackson to their enrollment. Mississippi State also adds its enrollment at Meridian and other off campus locations, but I think MSU still has the largest enrollment at one campus, and Ole Miss has the largest statewide enrollment.
College students are society's adolescents. One day most will grow up, start paying taxes, and contribute positively. Until then, much of what they say and do should be overlooked (shooting the bird at a TV camera, protesting, expressing their incredibly insightful views, etc.).
Give me a playoff berth and all the middle fingers they can throw at me.

It's as if State has an administration that thinks saving money by hiring only Coordinators or Assistants to be their Head Coach and giving their FANS the Double Birds!
