Cards are getting hot at the right time. 2 weeks ago I never would've guessed they would only be 1.5 back in the wild card. Man what a great win. Every night someone is else stepping up.

I like how were playing, a hard nine. Get healthy Matt. I had quit watching 6 weeks ago, but they've reeled me back in.

Besides, my interest in MLB has gotten progressively smaller every year, no matter how the Braves perform. In 10 years I'll probably check Wikipedia sometime mid-November to find out who won the World Series.

I think sometimes that can be worse than having a bad season and missing the playoffs altogether.

Getting in and going 3 and out is depressing, because you spend months watching the races, cheering for your team and for other teams to lose. You celebrate after months of a high intensity race when your team finally clinches. Then the playoffs start and less than a week in the season is over.

Jurrjens and Hanson are hurt. Not a surprise for either, especially hurt-twice-per-year-Jair.

Venters and Kimbrel have tired arms. Not a surprise there either. They should have a Braves fan lottery, and the winner gets to give one free shot to Freddi for every time he used Venters with a 5 run lead.

No one's hitting, same as it's been all year.

They definitely have the harder schedule from here on out, so the odds are against them. But they still have a chance if they can make the playoffs. Heyward is finally hitting again, at least. They have 3 starters to use, which is all you really need. Their manager is still a maron though. He'd probably start Lowe in 2 games ofa 5 game series.

When Freese first hit that ball I didn't think it had enough to get out. I sat up in bed and was saying get down, get down, get down. When the camera cut tothe ball going over the fence I started yelling. It scared the **** out of my wife who was, up to that point, sleeping in the bed next to me.</p>

10 errors since he came over.

And seriously Larussa. You bring in a struggling pitcher who threw 24 pitches last night?
