What's everyone grilling up for the final weekend of the regular season? My wife and I have both always hated traditional holiday food; we're going to a friend's house on Thursday and by God won't be guilted into bringing any leftovers home. Hosting several friends on Saturday for a full day of football watching; I'll be serving up:

- 8 pound bone-in pork shoulder, dry brined then smoked overnight with a crust formed by my homemade rub consisting of one part fresh cracked black peppercorns, one part fresh cracked Szechuan peppercorns, and one part granulated garlic.

- Brunswick stew slow roasted in my grandfather's cast iron Dutch oven. My own recipe adaptation, with a protein base of one part Jimmy Dean sausage and one part grilled chicken thighs, chopped.

- Crispy tater tots, cheating from the frozen food aisle

- Spinach Cobb salad adaptation with shredded gruyere, golden raisins, soft boiled eggs, crumbled bacon, avocado, chives, cherry tomatoes, and diced cornichons

- Full bar of ryes, bourbons, gins, rums, tequilas, liqueurs, aperitifs, champagnes, and ciders open to all

I guess I'm flying to your house. What's the address?

Very nice!
For us, after two days of a full blown Thanksgiving feast, we're going more traditional ball park stuff. Wife is making chili as we speak and I'll use some of that on top of grilled cajun Andouille sausage dogs with crinkle fries. May not sound like much but I kid you not, my mouth is watering as I type this. lol

Two things: Those tater tots - smash em' flat like a smash burger. Saw it on a TV cooking show and I'd never thought of that - looked really good - at least try it on a few and report back.

2nd thing: You said "open to all" at the end...... what's the address? I'll bring Doritos. ;)

I'm sure I'll grill up some elk steaks like I often do on Saturdays. I like to marinate them McCormick's Monteal sauce. That's some good eatin', right there.

Cot-DAMN son. I'm on my local butcher shop's list for elk steaks and they only come in maybe once a year.

So you’re tailgating and going to the game then?
