The point is by the eye test
,if it wasn’t played, Oregon wins that game. They were a 9 point favorite. You can’t go by FSU last night because that QB won’t be playing. You simply cannot definitively say FSU can’t compete.
They are out and should be out. Take off your FSU glasses and you'll see the best four teams got it. I nailed but it was pretty obvious to an objective eye.

But that has nothing to do with picking the four best teams at this moment in time. We lost two of those games. Who the hell were we?
It's ironic when you and I were growing up in the late 50s and early 60s, Alabama and Texas were the BIG BOYS in college football in the Southern part of the nation. 60 + years later, the more things change, the more they stay the same. smh I've a feeling it will be the same long after we are gone.

But the eye test didn't work for Washington. If we had gone by the eye test, Oregon would have the P12 title and be in the playoffs.

Huh? That’s not how the eye test works……the PAC has a title game so that the eye test isn’t needed for Oregon/Washington. The argument is for Alabama over FSU, not Texas, which there was no game to prove. That’s why the eye test is applicable here.

Just pointing out that without that title game, the "eye test" would be in Oregons favor, as opposed to what actually happened on the field.

The opportunity to play showed the eye test was wrong.

Therefore, the idea that the eye test should not be the deciding factor has merit.
