Love Shane and what he's doing. But Dabo has two national titles, both times slaying the perceived gold standard in college football.

I like it. And it is an interesting take on it. There's no doubt we ended 2022 looking like the better team. We destroyed a team that beat them by 2 TDs. We beat them in their house. Down 11 starters, we almost beat a team that destroyed them. No, Beamer is not on the same level. But the writer's point is that 1.5 years ago this isn't even a discussion. And now, when you relate it to buying stock, there is at least a question about which one would yield a higher return. Dabo would still be the clear long term, stable play. But there is a solid evidence now that you could make a crap ton of $$ on Beamer if you got in now. Is it sustainable? Is it long term? We'll see.

2 things:

1. clemson fans would walk collectively naked from the East coast to the West coast to be in the SEC. Dabo, on the other hand, would attempt an Evel Kenieval jump on a motorcycle over the Grand Canyon to stay in the ACC. Any clemson fan disagree?

2. Shane is going to retire as Head Coach at South Carolina in 20 years. We took a chance and did something no other P5 school did since he graduated from VT: hire him as Head Coach. If a school comes after him, we will use SEC money to hold on to him.

Agree. The day Clem announces they're leaving for the SEC will be Dabo's last day. He's got the best job in America, and it has nothing to do with Clemson. But honestly, I think the B10 makes more sense for Clem. I believe Fox would be a lot more willing to fork over $$ to the B10 for Clem than ESPN would for them to go to the SEC. ESPN is already getting half of the SC market. It's market expansion for Fox.

I really believe Beamer when he says this is his dream job. Maybe he's just a good salesman, but he's got me hooked. That dude lives, breathes, eats, and sleeps USC.

Clemson to the B10 is not good for us. They would have money and still the easier path to the playoffs.

Not worried about money. We bring in much more than them and they’ve dominated us. Their big draw is “come here and sleepwalk to the playoff”. Forget about competing with OSU and MICH. They don’t even get challenged from teams like PSU and Wisc right now. And B10 is adding SoCal and UCLA. Plus, they wouldn’t have the draw of recruiting the SE saying “come play in the SEC”.

What team did we destroy that beat them by 2 TD's?...

I think it's a double edged sword, I think the reason Clemson lost the title games was they really hadn't been tested playing in the ACC, but I believe playing in the SEC their record is different and they might not make the 4 team playoff. Another thing is I would think you sustain more injuries playing in the SEC compared to the ACC, JMO on that one!

Some on here are worried most about the money. I look at it as three scenarios.

1- they stay in the acc, go to the playoffs every year, but don't have a lot of money.

2- they join the sec, have money, but get relegated to a middle of the pack type team.

3- they join the b10, get lots of money, and are competing for at least 2nd or 3rd right off the bat, and that's enough to get them in a 12 team playoff yearly. So this is worst of both worlds, imo.
