It’s not just the shi++¥ recruiting and shi++¥ assistant hires. The coaching, top to bottom, is shi++¥.That's what bad teams do along with other stuff we see during games.
While I’m still bullish on Van Buren, last night was a pretty awful game from him too.Our ability to run the ball is getting pretty impressive. So that’s at least one plus. Wild the same line cannot pass block for anything.
Don’t disagree but he is a true freshman behind an awful pass blocking line and was playing against probably a top 3 sec defense last night. Even times he is “protected” the pocket can suffocate him and make it hard to throw. The 8 Carries for -9 yards are likely on the o line. 4 of those are sacks for -28 yds. While I’m still bullish on Van Buren, last night was a pretty awful game from him too.
10/26, 92 yds, 2 TOs, and a 27.6 QB rating
Oh, and 8 carries for -9 yds
He’s got that laser throw over the middle down pat, and he throws a pretty good deep ball, but he has some major struggles with pretty much every other touch throw

For the 2nd year in a rowWild the same line cannot pass block for anything.

I don’t think having 5 guys play in a new system and play together for the first time is ever going to be a good recipe at that position. For the 2nd year in a row
Comparing Rogers in a Leach offense to MVB in this offense is a true apples to oranges comparison. To put it in some perspective, our last QB started for the vast majority of 4 seasons, and had some bad games. They were almost exclusively against Alabama and a few other really good defenses.
He never had one as bad as MVB yesterday.
I also have high hopes for him. Hopefully yesterday was a career low.
A ****** performance is a ****** performance. He'll be better for it hopefully.Comparing Rogers in a Leach offense to MVB in this offense is a true apples to oranges comparison.
Maybe. But the fact is Van Buren really does only one thing well & that’s throwing deep. He’s got a lot of improving to do. But he does show promise.Comparing Rogers in a Leach offense to MVB in this offense is a true apples to oranges comparison.
Ummmm. Did you see that former QBs stats yesterday? Yeah he threw for a better completion percentage but was at 4.5 yards per attempt. To put it in some perspective, our last QB started for the vast majority of 4 seasons, and had some bad games. My point was you said Will never had a game as bad as MVB. So I’m not sure what your point was, but as an FYI.I watched the game. No surprise that Penn State was the better team and played like it. Not really sure what your point was. Will was the Will we know. He can't take a mediocre team and make them great, but he can definitely make sure a good team has a good season.
I probably shouldn't have even mentioned him. It's like pouring salt in the Will sized blisters so many have here for some reason.
I hope MVB has a spectacular career (at MSU).

I like picking the blister. I am a full fledged unapologetic irrational member of the Noodle Arm Haterz club. Does it make sense? No. Don’t care, just hater.Lol, congrats. Your research skills are impressive.
I was looking at passer rating I guess, which was 57 for that game. So they both had similarly ****** games. You win the debate. Get that blister checked on. I really hope MVB approaches what Will did at State.

If we are comparing them, I think MVB moves around the pocket much better and he's a first year player. I think MVB is a true pro typical qb, while Rogers is not. That is just a comparison and not indicative of either. Both are gritty...Maybe. But the fact is Van Buren really does only one thing well & that’s throwing deep. He’s got a lot of improving to do. Van Buren ceiling is definitely a lot higher. At this point, he could potentially have a long NFL career. Or just as easily be the same QB in 4 years he is today. Neither would surprise me.If we are comparing them, I think MVB moves around the pocket much better and he's a first year player. I think MVB is a true pro typical qb, while Rogers is not.
