Still, he looked pretty damn good.It was Rutgers
it is nearly impossible not to look good against RutgersStill, he looked pretty damn good.
I'm not saying he's ready for championships and a Heisman or anything, but he did exactly what a good backup and rising young quarterback should do. If SC isn't near 100 % next week I say roll with it and let the kid play.It was Rutgers
Geez, Rutgers isn't Arizona, Duke, or New Mexico State. They're competitive.it is nearly impossible not to look good against Rutgers
RutgresIt was Rutgers
Well Clifford didn't look too good today, and Franklin and the staff thought they have a better chance of winning with Clifford than with Veilleux as indicated by them starting Clifford......it is nearly impossible not to look good against Rutgers
Clifford took himself out due to injury. He was 2-8 and looked terrible while in there. Not sure when or even if Franklin would have pulled the plug on him if he did not take himself out?Well Clifford didn't look too good today, and Franklin and the staff thought they have a better chance of winning with Clifford than with Veilleux as indicated by them starting Clifford......
Goes to prove seniority can fail you some time, i could have seen a lot of disruption if CV played ahead of TR against Iowa.Perhaps he should have gotten a chance against Iowa?
Clifford looked horrible against Rutgers. I know he's hurt but just saying.it is nearly impossible not to look good against Rutgers
I wish he would have developed him a month earlier.Give some credit to Mike Yurcich developing CV
He was sick with the flu along with 34 others on the team. Probably shouldn't have started.Clifford looked horrible against Rutgers. I know he's hurt but just saying.
Something tells me TR was getting lots of attention to go with his reps, to no avail.I wish he would have developed him a month earlier.
This is true, but it also was the first real football he’s played in 2 years, and at the college level. No other way to describe his performance than impressive. It was Rutgers
Thank goodness he got in.This is true, but it also was the first real football he’s played in 2 years, and at the college level. No other way to describe his performance than impressive.
Franklin took Clifford out of the game not the other way around.Clifford took himself out due to injury. He was 2-8 and looked terrible while in there. Not sure when or even if Franklin would have pulled the plug on him if he did not take himself out?
Big difference between playing at Iowa when the ball is against your end zone and playing at home against Rutgers with good field position most of the game
He has the virus. He did not even warm up.Clifford looked horrible against Rutgers. I know he's hurt but just saying.
Christian had zero procedures, hit a corner route td, converted some crucial 3rd downs, found a wide open Maliga, ran with guts, and only up by seven took it to 28.Big difference between playing at Iowa when the ball is against your end zone and playing at home against Rutgers with good field position most of the game
Not hard to separate the do do birds from the realistic observer's comments. He was sick with the flu along with 34 others on the team. Probably shouldn't have started.
Yet Clifford managed to pull it off quite well.it is nearly impossible not to look good against Rutgers
the flu virus, that is. Doesn't sound like he was injured. Franklin in post-game PC said he was on IV during warm-ups and they didn't expect Clifford to play. He was cleared sometime after warm ups.He has the virus. He did not even warm up.
Clifford took himself out due to injury. He was 2-8 and looked terrible while in there. Not sure when or even if Franklin would have pulled the plug on him if he did not take himself out?
Give him time.......The best possible thing for his canonization here is to never play another down......
I thought he threw a nice ball and when he missed he missed long avoiding a turnover. His running style needs to improve; avoid contact more than he did against Rutgers.Still, he looked pretty damn good.
Thus was born the legend of Pat Devlin.Give him time.......The best possible thing for his canonization here is to never play another down......
While I shouldn't be.....I'm always stunned at how quickly fans can make definitive judgements......good and bad. LOLThus was born the legend of Pat Devlin.
Looks like the kid can be a player, love the way he scans the field, steps up in the pocket etc.. already as one hell on an inexperienced kid..
He did perform well. No doubt about that. Would he have had better success against Iowa than Roberson? No way to really tell. Iowa defense is light years ahead of Rutgers. But yes the kid played well. Good for him and PSU.Christian had zero procedures, hit a corner route td, converted some crucial 3rd downs, found a wide open Maliga, ran with guts, and only up by seven took it to 28.
No it wasn't Iowa, but he performed surprisingly well, for a QB who hasn't taken a snap in 2 years.
