Like many others have said in other threads, Maryland will be up for this game and the longer the Penn State allows them to hang around the tougher it will be. They have good skill position players, but once Penn State gets up two scores I think they are done.

As a coach, the days I hated most were homecoming and senior day. Too much going on and a player's sometimes fragile focus gets distracted. I'm still mystified that a team with seemingly everything to play for looked so ragged last week. Did they learn from the scare? Did they learn from the Bowling Green game? I guess we have to tune in for the next episode.

True, senior days are both the best and the worst. Concentration/focus vs emotions

I was a control freak. I didn't like pep rallies, bon fires, senior day or homecoming. I wanted to be completely in charge of the mindset of my team on game day. I had a team that stood at 7-0 with our "rivalry" game on a Saturday. Someone thought it would be great to have a bonfire the night before the game. Even in the flickering light, I could see something wasn't right. I got the team together after to discover my top 2 QBs, starting center, and rover had been drinking. Had to kick a total of 7 off the team that night. At 11pm, I had a new QB, that hadn't played a snap there since JV working in the gym. Fortunately, I had 2 stud tailbacks and a solid defense. Needless to say, that was the end of bonfires etc.
Just as an aside, for those of you with coaching experience.....the source of the booze was the father of one of the QBs.
