True, senior days are both the best and the worst. Concentration/focus vs emotionsAs a coach, the days I hated most were homecoming and senior day. Too much going on and a player's sometimes fragile focus gets distracted. I'm still mystified that a team with seemingly everything to play for looked so ragged last week. Did they learn from the scare? Did they learn from the Bowling Green game? I guess we have to tune in for the next episode.
I was a control freak. I didn't like pep rallies, bon fires, senior day or homecoming. I wanted to be completely in charge of the mindset of my team on game day. I had a team that stood at 7-0 with our "rivalry" game on a Saturday. Someone thought it would be great to have a bonfire the night before the game. Even in the flickering light, I could see something wasn't right. I got the team together after to discover my top 2 QBs, starting center, and rover had been drinking. Had to kick a total of 7 off the team that night. At 11pm, I had a new QB, that hadn't played a snap there since JV working in the gym. Fortunately, I had 2 stud tailbacks and a solid defense. Needless to say, that was the end of bonfires etc.True, senior days are both the best and the worst. Concentration/focus vs emotions

Just as an aside, for those of you with coaching experience.....the source of the booze was the father of one of the QBs.
