So, you think night games at WB have no emotional impact

Can we go back to arguing about HIPAA? That’s how bad THIS argument is.
Lol….yep. I am getting ready to go back to being awol for my benefit.

When people talk about away teams preparing for crowd noise, we all know it’s different live and in color. Kind of like no way our scout team can prepare our offense for Bama/UGA’s defense. We can simulate all day, but it’s not the same. I need to stop jumping into debates that seem obvious.

Again, when you pay what their fans pay for tickets, you have to think you matter. Athletic departments know that and encourage coaches to sell it. Happy Thanksgiving!
Sell it = lie? Must be a coaching interview question - can you lie to our fan base?

Have a look at the 10:25 mark of Uva's interview with Taneyhill playing on this forum. I'd link it if I could.

I am still in awe that we have people on this board who refuse to acknowledge fans play absolutely no part in a team’s performance.

Do we not remember Todd Gurley’s comments about playing at WB from just a very few short years ago? That’s a rival saying that about our stadium atmosphere. What good would it do to have him “make our fans think they matter?”

And that’s pre-NIL, where he saw zero dollars of the revenue. How would saying that benefit him in the slightest bit?

I didn't say that emotional expression doesn't make people happy,, only that such is of little causative value. Those coaches know it, too. They have a line they have to toe in order to pacify the fans. Fans need to feel as if they matter. Otherwise, they might stop buying tickets.
You honestly think emotion doesn’t affect physical effort?? What? This is about as uneducated a position you could ever hold and is impossible to defend. You are just a negative person when it comes to the gamecocks. You always temper a good event and magnify a negative one with my gamecocks. We have a strong fan base and are well known for sandstorm This is a good thing and you are compelled to minimize it. Your willingness to attempt to defend your position is hollow and appears weak. You now have to call EVERY coach a lying greedy manipulator to prove your point. You need to let this go. You are simply wrong

Emotions play a part, but not exogenously imparted emotions but intrinsic emotions, a matter of personal character. I'm sorry to minimize your importance, and that of people of your persuasion, but if we win tomorrow night, it will have nothing to do with y'all. Y'all will claim otherwise, and coaches and players will praise and thank the crowd, but it will be puffing the fanbase to keep them buying tickets and giving money.

And I'll tell you something else: the combined influences of the NIL and the transfer portal dictate that playing college football is more and more a mercenary enterprise. These players are as prone to bolt as to stay. Partisan fans are mattering less all the time because the connection between players and fans is growing evermore tenuous. This is something you ought to be able to see yourself. Sis-boom-bah is passe', and that's being kind.

Man you are not even close to presenting a winning or believable argument. You have bitten off more than you can handle and you need to just let it go. Like I just watched a documentary on the America's cup and how we lost it to Australia. That one show, talking about one sport that I could care less about proves you wrong. You are using too many words and introducing too many nuances and straw men to sustain a valid argument. You are simply wrong.

Do you really think the crowd influenced the outcome of the 1983 America's Cup? Location; long distance travel and disruption from normal schedule probably contributed some, crowd energy, no way. I'd say the winged keel had much more impact than the location and the crowd had absolutely no effect on the outcome of the race.

You're offering no actual rebuttal at all. You disagree with me. That's better than me taking a Unisom when I need some sleep.

I still would like a rebuttal from someone on the other side of this issue to my question regarding a player like Todd Gurley’s comments some years back?

"“There was never not one time where I watched a game and was like, ‘I wish I was out there,’” Gurley told NBC LX. “I appreciated my time in the league and I’ve done things I could have never even dreamed about.”- Todd Gurley as quoted by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk of NBC Sports"

What in the world is this?

The preponderance of historical evidence points against contrived atmosphere as a decisive factor. That has certainly been the case in Columbia, where most of our crazed mobilization efforts have been blown up.
