Softball lost last night to the first legit team they played. They came in like 21-2 and to me should have been 23-0 with that schedule. It makes me fear for the baseball team as Kingston has scheduled the same way. I personally thought the softball coach should have been gone last year but she must have convinced Tanner that it was due to injuries. I know they had her on 107.5 one day and she blamed her poor season on injuries.

She should have been let go a few years ago... However, she is Dawns best buddy... not saying Dawn is "lobbying" for her, but that probably holds some weight.
Time will tell on baseball, but I personally feel this team is way better than any of the teams these last few years. The SEC is brutal in baseball. Win two out of three as often as you can and do not get swept in a series would be nice.

I think this may be the last year of Beverly Smiths contract. I know a couple of years ago her contract was extended by 3 years. This may be the last year of her contract if not this year next year. She does have two highly recruited pitchers coming in next year. What she needs is more diversity on the roster. I know recruiting against Alabama, Florida, LSU, Georgia is really hard but there is no excuse because there are so many good softball players. Hopefully this is Beverly Smith's last year. There is no excuse for our softball program to be in the shape that it is in. Joyce Compton like Mark Berson got lazy in recruiting and both programs really went down and the rest of the SEC in softball did not stand by they took their programs to higher levels. The same thing happened with our womens basketball prorgram when Dawn took over it took her several years to recruit higher level players. It can be done with the right coach.
Can't see why we wouldn't just want to recruit the best players regardless of their ethnicity. Also, when is the last time LSU won a national championship - Never. They haven't even won the SEC since 2007.
And FYI - by what I assume you are meaning, South Carolina has 4 players that are not white, while LSU only has 3...
EDIT - South Carolina has 5. I overlooked another player, probably because that's not the first thing I'm looking for when looking at a team.
