Keeping things current:

Two months after the NFL Players Association called for a ban on the type of turf used at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions are installing a new surface for 2023.

The Lions said Monday they are switching from a slit-film turf to a monofilament field turf, which is considered the most grass-like surface of the three kinds of turf used in NFL stadiums.

Installation, which was originally scheduled for 2024, is scheduled to begin this month as part of a package of stadium enhancements. The team said the decision was made to move installation up one year "once it became unlikely that we would host a home playoff game this year."
Thanks for that info that is very important.

That field has one of the worst turfs in the NFL. That is where Von Miller tore his ACL.I hope there are no tragedies in that game because of the turf.
A lot of NFL stadiums in the NFL have worse surfaces than Detroit. You would think they would all do better.

What a crock.

“Michigan State was asked and I think we were asked for a reason. If you look at some of the other schools that were asked to move games or play in prime time, I think this is a really good example of how Michigan State is perceived by the TV partners.”

Or maybe how Penn State is perceived.

Haller is working the spin machine for all it's worth. I doubt a similar move would have taken place if it was MSU vs. Indiana, for example. To me it seems the move is more favorable for Penn State.

Brought to you by the same dipstick that signed Mel Tucker to a ten-year, $95mm contract.

The talk at the time was that the mortgage broker boys were ponying up the $$ for that contract. Whether that is precisely true or not, I do not know.
If MSU is actually on the hook for that thing (I am guessing they are not - but who knows), it is probably the worst contract in the history of college football coaches. The chances that Mel Tucker is not canned well before that contract runs its course are about the same as FairGambit entering into a joint partnership with Diane Lane.

Not entirely. Mortgage banker Mat Ishbia and digital marketer Steve St. Andre contributed a total of $24mm towards Tucker's contract. MSU is on the hook for the entire amount.

mel (“Kiss my grits!”) looked like a great hire in the first year. He won with portal players. I guess the wheels fell off.

I had never heard of Haller until I read this spin article.
