Oh, now I see where your coming from. What the heck does that have to do with the offensive post that crept into a string discussing high school football game? My friend, you could simply admit we have a disagreement and walk away. But instead you insist on taking an authoritarian position and pose your will onto someone else.
Laka is no racist, he’s just someone who wants to be cool and happening, which is why he is all gaga about Chance the Rapper.I really don't have an issue with you my friend. My original issue was with La ka's post. I would hope everyone on this board would be offended. And on most any other board he would have been booted for what he posted. But I still contend that there are some who post here a lot, like LaKa, who get a pass. I guarantee that if I had made that post, I would be gone. Now am I right about that? Maybe, maybe not. But it is simply the perspective I have. Listen, my wife will tell you just how often I'm wrong. Lol
Anyway, you seem like a reasonable guy. I apologize if I have come on too strong here. But I felt that Laka's post was way out of bounds. And yet, he's still here. That is all this was about. Have a great day!

Me: I’m all gaga about W.B. Yeats: “There is not a fool can call me friend.”
I understand. But he can be "cool and happening" without being offensive. But I suppose that's what our society has come to.Laka is no racist, he’s just someone who wants to be cool and happening, which is why he is all gaga about Chance the Rapper.

Yeah, I did some research on the Cube-Maher discussion and saw that Chance wanted Maher to lose his show.Dude, Chance the Rapper hasn't been "in" for quite awhile ... Chance also lobbied for Maher to be taken off the air for his usage of the n-word in the incident my video referenced, so he most certainly wouldn't be a friend of laKa's.
Oh, and I listen to R&B and hip-hop as my primary musical genres, and I don't do it to be cool or happening. It's just what has always resonated with me, since I was a teenager. I'd love to introduce laKa to some folks who'd be really interested in hearing him say the n-word.
The issue seems to be that what is offensive here is not offensive in his circle of friends. If he can drop the N word with his African American friend and that friend is fine with it, no problem in my book. But that doesn’t make it OK to do with everybody, particularly people you don’t know.I understand. But he can be "cool and happening" without being offensive. I don't know exactly where the Runyan's live, but I play at the golf course that Runyan Sr is a member at, and it can't be more than 10 miles/20-25 minutes from St Joe's Prep. It's not like he's coming from an hour or two away (definitely tough to compete against as a Public school with a much smaller pool, but not that crazy for him to go to St Joe's Prep).Geeze, I cam here to say feck St Joe's Prep and their unfair recruiting advantage(Jon Runyan Jr went to St Joes Prep, lived in South Jersey and was name PA Player of the year which is ********)
But the point is he lives in NJ and plays for a team that is allowed to compete in the PIAA. McCord was the same deal. Not sure about Trotter’s kids? How anyone at the PIAA justifies that is beyond me.I don't know exactly where the Runyan's live, but I play at the golf course that Runyan Sr is a member at, and it can't be more than 10 miles/20-25 minutes from St Joe's Prep. How far away they live is not the issue. The issue is that Jon Runyon Jr was a resident of New Jersey. I believe Jon Runyon Sr was a NJ State Rep at one point. Don't get me wrong, I love Jon Runyon(Go Birds!!) but the fact that the PIAA allows non PA Residents to compete in the PIAA is just wrong. I believe it happens at Erie Cathedral Prep as well. Maybe, this could be better resolved that students that compete in PIAA sports must have a PA residency just like public school student must live in the school district(although I heard stories about that as well when kids lived in North Penn SD but ended up playing at CB West and using one of the CB West coach's bar as their address to register in the district).I don't know exactly where the Runyan's live, but I play at the golf course that Runyan Sr is a member at, and it can't be more than 10 miles/20-25 minutes from St Joe's Prep. I went to a Catholic High School on the NY/PA border, and we had plenty of kids from PA in our school. It wouldn't have made sense to exclude them from being able to play sports just because they lived 10 minutes in one direction instead of 10 minutes in another direction. So who were we supposed to play if we can't play all of the other schools around us in NY?How far away they live is not the issue. The issue is that Jon Runyon Jr was a resident of New Jersey. Yes. You don't live in the state you don't get to play for the high school in another state. In order to go to a public school you must reside in that school district. To compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association the athlete should reside in Pennsylvania. So, St Joe's Prep and the rest of the schools in the Philadelphia district 12 were not competing in the PIAA State Playoffs until 2015. Not sure why. However, St Joe's Prep, because of their unlimited boundaries have dominated the state championship for their class. Private schools, when it comes to the state playoffs, should be in their own brackets, or they could go back to like before where they can play schools in their area(like your example which would you would still have games to play) however, they would not be eligible to compete in the state playoff system.I went to a Catholic High School on the NY/PA border, and we had plenty of kids from PA in our school. Using Erie Cathedral Prep...are their kids from the NY side of the border ineligible for any high school sports in your model? Or does Erie just end up with no other schools that they can compete against (at least withing a reasonable traveling distance), if they can't play PIAA schools?
Liar. You knew you were offending, which is why you didn't spell it out. This exactly I am sorry to offend.
I'd say that it's much more likely that he was ignorant/oblivious to the fact that it would be offensive to some, rather than that he "knew" that he was offending.Liar. You knew you were offending, which is why you didn't spell it out.

I’m going to the Phillipsburg vs. Winslow Township game on Wednesday night at Rutgers Stadium.
Phillipsburg a had a great year and will be playing an undefeated Winslow Township team for the Group 4 State Title. With the new playoff format in New Jersey this is not a “sectional” state title but truly a State Title. However, because of this rivalry game against Easton on Thanksgiving Day Phillipsburg gets 6 days rest and Winslow gets 12 days rest. Shouldn’t the priority be the State Title and shouldn’t the NJ state conference committee mandate that to be adhered to?
P-burg and Easton draw 15,000 paying customers to their Thanksgiving Day game. Go tell both communities to end that game on that day. Good luck!I’m going to the Phillipsburg vs. Winslow Township game on Wednesday night at Rutgers Stadium.

I understand. With the new playoff format Phillipsburg will ultimately have to make decision, give it their all at the Rivalry game against Easton and basically forfeit the State Title game or request to have one of the games rescheduled. Yesterday’s 35-0 beating by Winslow township could have been much worse. Their HC clearly let up in the 4th quarter. With only 5 days rest Phillipsburg looked slow, lethargic and discombobulated at times, which in my opinion is a direct byproduct of that Easton game. It's high school football. If you're advocating getting rid of a Turkey Day rivalry game for the latest iteration of some state playoff ... man, you're missing the point entirely. And if you're forcing a school to make a choice, you shouldn't be in charge of potentially creating that dilemma.I understand. feel it was not fair to Winslow township.
I guess it comes down to what they value more, a rivalry game against Easton on Thanksgiving Day where 15,000 people show up or winning a State Title. With only 5 days rest Phillipsburg will not get a sniff against a formidable opponent and this year’s Winslow Township team was outstanding. In 2003 Easton played in the state semis against that great North Penn team. This was on a Saturday night, two days after Thanksgiving.I guess it comes down to what they value more, a rivalry game against Easton on Thanksgiving Day where 15,000 people show up or winning a State Title.
