How much has the commitment to the run played a part in this?
So from what I can tell, when dawgstudent sold out, he agreed to (a) start a **** ton of threads to keep traffic up for a certain period of time (or maybe he has some earnout provisions where he gets additional payments if the traffic maintains certain levels in the first so many weeks), and (b) tempt the football gods and try to jinx us as much as possible.

Not surprised by the former, but the second is a somewhat surprising provision to be included. I hope you are happy when we go 0 for the next 30 redzone attempts and break the bowl streak.

Is it a commitment to the run or Will having a much better understanding of what he sees at the line - pre snap and calling the run? A combination of both?
It’s 100% the latter. For the one-hundredth time, EVERY PLAY MIKE LEACH CALLS IS A PASS PLAY. He doesn’t call any of these run plays. We finally have a qb and ol that’s executing them

It's help, but we're just able to execute in the passing game faster this year. It was the last part of Will's game that needed to click. Which shouldn't be too surprising.

That one-on-one rub route to Austin Williams / Slot WR is pretty much impossible to stop.

Adding the run has made all the difference. Being able to run when defense only has 5 in the box has made a huge difference to this offense. Run it right at them if they are going to play coverage. If they creep in throw it over them.
What has helped us is the lack of rush from teams also. LSU overloaded one side and came after Will every play in the second half. Ark and TAMU didn't. I imagine Kentucky will do what lsu did or at least try to

Concept offense guys. We will run when the box is favorable AND we are consistently getting productive yardage.

If you think all of a sudden Leach has discovered that you have to be balanced to win be prepared to be disappointed possibly Bama or GA. Balance in this offense is a result of the other team gearing up so much to stop the pass AND then we still have to run block and break some tackles.

We have evolved in our capability to consistently do this against inferior, equal and possibly slightly more talented teams. Next evolution is handling the more physical D-lines and DBs. 2020 was not a real season; a lot of games we played without enough scholarships players. Leach knew he needed teachable reps. I think we are ahead of where we should e given he installed this offense on Zoom calls. The record may or may not show it but we will be pretty salty at the end of the year!
