If PSU can contain Harrison and protect Allar, they win. If not…long night. PSU 24-17

I am so impressed with Allar's composure. He may make Saturday one of those special moments in Penn State lore.
I agree. If there is one knock on him, it’s that he is satisfied to take the easy underneath throws and not push riskier throws deep. I’m fine with that though. Take what the defense is giving you and move the chains. I think Manny’s defense is getting even better if that is possible. He has been playing around with three DEs on the field at the same time the last few weeks and it is working to disrupt things. I think he’ll have something dialed up this week for McCord, who is not your typical OSU mobile QB. He’s more of a pocket passer. I think the pass rush can, and will, get to him making for a long day for him.

I worry that the OSU defense is going to put a lot of pressure on Allar and with the home crowd it’s going to be a very tough atmosphere for him. The key may be how much our running game and sideline passing game can help take some this pressure away.

the way our OFF is playing, hard to see us scoring more than 20 pts against a good OSU DEF. agree the refs will be good for 3-5 pts.

two areas of our game that are a bit uncertain are FG and punting, which would be critical in a low scoring tight game.

How do you see JF strategy in a low scoring/tight game where field position is paramount?

As stated above, punting and field goal kicking have not been championship quality to date. A 38 yard punting average doesn’t suggest the potential to flip the field. Generally speaking, if 2 teams are evenly matched, turnovers and kicking game are the determining factor.

Score prediction, I’ll say Penn State wins 27-17.
I will say this. This is the first time in a long time I’m going into this game with more anticipation than dread.

Don’t post here much, but I think we win this game merely because of “The Law of Averages”(if you believe in that type of thing).

Here are tOSUs win streaks against us:

1 - 93

2 - 95,96

1 - 98

1 - 00

3 - 02,03,04

2 - 06, 07

2 - 09, 10

4 - 12,13,14,16

6 - 17,18,19,20,21,22

I think we win because 6 in a row is NOT the norm, for this game.

We are waaaaay overdue.

PSU 20
OSU 17

SO TIRED OF LOSING TO THEM!!!!!!

Interested to see how Allar does in his first big game on the road. PSU Defense should hold OSU in check most of the game. Turnovers will be a huge factor, hopefully Allar keeps things going well in that direction.

We now have 5 Maybins in Isaac, Chop, DDS, Carter and Jacobs. Imagine what we could see on every play this year:

Honestly, this is a game that could go either way. Both teams seem to be pretty evenly matched, and it may well come down to a bone-headed call by one of the coaches costing their team the game. I wouldn't bet on this game, either way.

This isn't the typical OSU team of the past. The don't have an elite OL or QB, but they still have a ton of talent at WR and I think the bigger issue will be their TE. He's legit and he will be the key to containing their offense. I'm still not sold on their defense (they haven't played a legit O this year), but I'm also not sold on the PSU OL or WR's. I'll say 24-17 OSU since it's at home and PSU hasn't proven over the years that they can beat OSU. Hope I'm wrong.

The juice for this game might be sufficient for the team to be ready to play full speed at a noon kickoff.

I really really want to predict a Penn State win and this game does not have the doom and gloom of previous years. I am terrified to predict a win but at the same time, I think this is by far our best chance since saquon.

I also see this as very even game with matchups on an even draw. they have had two RBs out along with their #2 WR, which may give us a little edge. OSU OFF v PSU DEF (edge to us), and PSU OFF v OSU DEF (edge to OSU). feel like around 20 could win this versus a shoot out.

In that kind of game special team matchup will play a key role. Feel good about our KO, and return games. FG and punting are where I feel very uncertain.
