I am heading to the Cliffburgh game on 11/12 with customers. It has been years since I did a tailgate and we always just did sandwiches. I am not opposed to grilling but I would like to have a number of warm dishes. Meatballs, chicken, ribs.

What is the best way get food hot and keep it hot for a tailgate...... 2+ hours to the game and another 4 hours of tailgating.

Hot Boxes / Coolers?

Sterno?

Using an inverter to power appliances using the car battery

Propane Warmer

Screw it, just have amazing cold food.

Open to suggestions from the experts.....PSU fans

Sterno trays, sterno keeps the water underneath hot and heats the upper trays. Have flame proof tables though!

I would caution on the inverter and car battery vs what appliances you expect to run
unless you are bringing extra battery(s)

I use 3 deep cycle Marine Batteries in parallel to power a 140 Watt TV and cable box (+ pwr strip for phone chargers)
The math says I can run 240Watts worth of items for 10 continuous hours .. IE a 1500Watt space heater would be good for about an hour and half
the inverter should be a 1000w or higher dependent upon how many you are using at any one given time IE not good for a 1500w space heater

(We use a coleman stove and coffee perculating pot instead of electric coffemaker) Portable stoves heat the food up pretty quickly --- IE cooked mac and cheese dishes, bbq brisket, and chili ----the night before--- refrigerate-- pack in a cooler with a 5lb block dry ice (use a cardboard barrier between ice and food as to not freeze your food) for the drive --- ready to reheat via stove just need the 1lb coleman propane tanks

to keep hot?? sure use sterno if you got it

For the Delaware game the folks next to us in lot 12 ran a generator near all of us because they forgot the long extension cord. The exhaust and noise was just what everyone wanted! 😏 The kicker is, they ran the generator for 3 crock pots and a TV that wouldn't connect to the Dish Network pod they had with them. I know this because the wife was on the phone with Dish biotching for an hour before they packed it all up for the noon game.

My best advice is this, and I know most would agree, make it as simple as possible. Setting up a bunch of stuff and getting everything perfect is a waste when the experience is what you're there for. I've seen it a ton of times. People come in after us, spend the entire time putting up their tent, put the tables out, get the grill out along with all the food snacks and plates and utensils then cook for 20 minutes and eat then head into the game. If it's a 3:30 or 7:30kick and you get there early it might be worth it but not for a 12:00 imo. ✌️

Mecheatagain game, the lots are rumored to open for 6am, plenty of time to set up a smorgasbord, tiki bar, and hot tub! 😂😂😂😂. Shotclock starts at 8am for nooners. Yeah simple is better for nooners. Breakfast and bevs, head into game and some food after.
