My Lebron over MJ debate is totally 17ed. It was never really in question who was better, but at least before I could make a "case" for Lebron so that I could see people piss themselves in anger.
MJ is way better than Lebron. It's always baffling to me about how much of sports is all in a player's head. Lebron is bigger, faster, and stronger than MJ and even has an equivalent skill set.... yet he wouldn't be able to carry Jordan's jockstrap.
However, I do contend that you have to keep the best EVAR argument to within a respective playing era though.

It is not so much that he went to Miami but the fact that he went there and predicted 5-6 championships and had a huge party with the elevating stage and the fireworks. Also it was only a week ago that LeBron said he was glad to finally be on a team of guys that did not "die in the moment". A huge part of being one of the all time greats is mental. Jerry Rice, Walter Peyton, Emmet Smith,and Joe Montana wereno more physically gifted than most NFL players but they were mentally tough and out worked everyone. Jordan, Bird, and Magic were the same way. LeBron, for all of his physical attributes, just does not have IT.

Jeezuz H. That is not what I said. I said that they were not more physically gifted than many NFL players. Therehave been alot of guys that were just as strong and fast as Walter Peyton but no one has had his heart or work ethic and that is what put him over the top.

His point was it wasn't that those players were naturally that much better than other talented players, it's that they took that talent and mixed it with determination, effort, etc and went above and beyond those other talented players. Lebron, thus far, hasn't. He still has time but he better get busy.

52-11. ELEVEN. That's ridiculous. Lebron has scored 4 or less in the 4th qtr in four of the five finals games. I realize that lebron defers to wade often, and he should sometimes, but he has disappeared in clutch time of this series on BOTH ends of the floor.

As you should know Lebron is 26 also. MJ also played at North Car for Dean Smith, one of the best all time coaches. I think its safe to say at 26 MJ was more disciplined and polished than Lebron. Lebron is a freakier athlete. This debate over MJ or Lebron is very skewed. At the same age (26) Lebron has had a better career than MJ. For the long haul we should revisit this in 10 years.

He played what would be equivalent to a full college game plus an overtime. Even superstars get tired. If the guy got a triple double, he did his part. Miami got bombed with threes last night.
