These comparisons make zero sense. Jackie took over a miserable program and went 7-5 in year 1 with a huge win over Texas. Mullen took over a miserable program and went 5-7, but with a big season ending win in the egg bowl.

Lebby took over a bad team and managed to somehow make them worse while chalking up a 2-10 record.

If you don’t think fans should be upset over this, you do you, but comparing this football season to the beginning of the JWS and Mullen eras is a terrible comparison

Our portal and NIL scenario, program momentum and how we are perceived are not pointing up. It’s hard to get kids to Starkville. It is not going to be easy. We can definitely win more games next year but expecting to go bowling next year is not realistic.

I don’t think so, it was a trend. leach had a 9-4 team with 8 home games. He would have won 9-10 games in 2023. That would be back to back 9+ win seasons.

3-4 year rebuild? I missed that "sales" meeting. Mullen's years are not outliers - just better coaching and player recruiting.
