These comparisons make zero sense. Jackie took over a miserable program and went 7-5 in year 1 with a huge win over Texas. Mullen took over a miserable program and went 5-7, but with a big season ending win in the egg bowl.

Lebby took over a bad team and managed to somehow make them worse while chalking up a 2-10 record.

If you don’t think fans should be upset over this, you do you, but comparing this football season to the beginning of the JWS and Mullen eras is a terrible comparison

W/L didn’t matter this year we were going to be awful regardless. We played hard and made some improvements. We found a few young core players to build around. Fix defense in 2025 and continue to improve. Goal should be 6 wins in 2026.

Our program is in a terrible situation and coaches know that, it’s why we had to go coordinator route. We were probably lucky Lebby was friends with Selmon and he was able to get him.

Many don’t want to hear it but if Lebby can get to 6 wins in 3 years he will have done an incredible job. This was going to be a 3/4 year rebuild. The Mullen years were an outlier.
