The SEC stands 1-2 starting the bowl games today, and the two that are going on right now have the SEC losing or tied.Is this a case of the SEC being in bad match ups, or have we come back to the pack?

WE haven't come back anywhere because we were 1 of 2 teams that didn't get to a bowl. The SEC is a standout conference in the top 2, Bama and Florida. 3 thru 12 are even with the other BCS conferences. LSU may have a chance to get back up in that top tier next season while a Florida may fall back to the pack somewhat. But I don't think that as a conference top to bottom, the SEC has big time bragging rights over anybody else.

and like one of the commentators said earlier today, you just don't know which teams are coming in to play, and which ones are just showing up,

Like Bama did last year.

Face it, the SEC is a tad overrated, and is a product of ESPN hyping up the conference. They should do that since they have money invested through the billion dollar TV contract.
But outside of the top 2 teams, other conferences are even with or better than us. LSU is our 3rd best team and Ole Miss seemingly the 4th, and they're both likely to lose against comparable teams from other conferences. Northwestern is a 5th place Big 10 team about to beat Auburn.

and we've gone way down in basketball.

The bowl season is shaping up to be horrivble for the SEC. We'll still be cashing checks, though.

but this year was weird. Everybody after UF and Bama were very flawed. Our 3rd best team (I guess LSU) certainly wasn't great, but our 10th best team (us) and maybe 11th best (UK) were almost as good as our third best. If you lined the SEC up 1-10 against other conferences, I think we'd generally win the top two, split or worse 3-5, and win 6-10

UK should have been playing FSU instead of Clemson. UT was way outmatched vs VT. The rest of the games are pretty even other than UF having the edge.

no to mention, bowl games themselves are way overated in saying they determine who is actually better....some teams are playing and mentally preparing like it's their own personal championship...especially the ones playing sec teams, and i believe alot of those sec teams are just enjoying the trip and going through the motions.....the true drama and excitement from the sec regular sec is over for them....for the first time i'm way more excited for the nfl playoffs and might be from here on out because those games actually mean something.....the only game that actually means something in the bowl games is the national champ. game
