The only possible way that they could 17 up this process any more would be if they put Chokwe in a leadership position.
University of the World... then they could keep the W.
I think they should actually just auction off the naming rights every 5-10 years, but only to companies with a W in the title.
For $X, it could be Wells Fargo University of Mississippi for the next 5 years.

I think "Woke State University of Mississippi" would attract more of a crowd than this crap they came up with. Afterall, there's lots of wandering Woke souls out there now just looking for a place to land and the whole reason for this name change was to increase attendance so............

They're women.... they are telling you, they aren't changing their name while pretending to try and change their name.
We all know this a bunch of women saying "We don't care if you change the name. It doesn't matter." But they really mean "We'll kill you in your sleep if you change the name".
Did they say what the significance of Wynbridge is, or did they just pull a name out of the air that started with W?
“wyn” is Olde English for the letter “W”.
Bridge is saying they’re bridging knowledge to the future or some other dumb sнit like that.
Amanda Clay Powers, the university's dean of library services and co-chair of the naming task force, said Tuesday that Wynbridge “creatively pairs the Old English word for ‘W,’ using it as a ‘bridge’ that connects past, present and future W graduates.”
“With our commitment to keeping ‘The W,’ we feel this is the perfect name for the university that looks back at our illustrious past as the first publicly supported university for women, keeping our tradition of looking forward into the future,” Powers said in the university's news release.

Don't be stealing mine. I have made that suggestion on two previous posts about this topic.
My wife and her friends from the 1970’s “W” understand that it is in he best interest of the University to change the name, they just don’t like any of the stupid, embarrassing names that are being forced on them. They won’t be writing any checks and the President of the University is in their cross hairs. My wife has reached the point of “whatever “ but I think a couple of her old friends are contemplating felonies.

It's as good as they could do. They were 10000% going to make it gender nuetral. So leaving it as it was is off the docket. There isn't a new name that exists that would satiate more than 10% of the people. Opinions are just like @rseholes...
At least now they (alumni) can still call it The W.
On the flipside, I'm curious to see what direction they go in for a logo. Are they publicly going to still call it The W?
