Never wore a jock, never coached, never attended a single practice.....but calls out the entire offensive coaching staff for playing the wrong QB. LOL Fanboys!
Being a successful QB just might require more skills and knowledge than who can throw the ball the farthest.
I do think that with what seems to be an inevitable defeat this weekend......that we may see a more aggressive plan blending Allar into meaningful playing time with Cliff. Thinking a series here and there in addition to mop up duty.
If you've ever been in charge of a locker room, you would know the consequences of not playing the guy who has clearly demonstrated to his teammates that he's the best to lead the team.
Cliff is the best QB right now and has been to this point. If PSU loses Saturday, the coaches will have justification to mix and match a bit more, having been "officially eliminated" from the Big Ten race.
That being said, a win would be so sweet.

What I find maddening is that Franklin makes these decisions as to who starts and who sits without ever seeing a practice. The CEO is too busy to tend to practices. He pays people to do that while he plans facilities and meets politicians, investors, community leaders, university administrators, etc. Then, as the CEO, he decides who starts and who doesn’t, because he’s the CEO. Maddening.

Plus Yurcich, Seider, Stubblefield, Howle and Trautwein....are all stooges who couldn't tell a football from a hockey puck.
What would we do without people on message boards coaching us?
WE DESERVE BETTER!

As CEO, Franklin didn’t even interview those guys. He’s too busy. All that time jet-setting in private planes and riding in motorcades to see important people. As CEO, he doesn’t have time for the minutia of assistant coaches and who plays.

Plus, he has to spend a lot of time on this board getting sound advice.

None of these guys will ever make the "Internet Coach of the Year."
"We" are also held back by a fan base with expectations that our not "elite." "We" need to hold coaches accountable because they are paid well. Our goal should be playoffs or bust! If not, what kind of fans are we? I hate us!

You're jumbling, jumbles. If they lose this weekend (and few expect them to win, regardless of who is at QB, but it'd be great if it happens), Sean would STILL be the bestest QB to lead the program, according to you. And the ramifications of not playing him going forward would still be catastrophic, according to you, because he's clearly demonstrated to his teammates that he's the best to lead the team. But then you suggest Allar will be phased in, if that happens. AND, you say this despite never having been in the PSU locker room, or at their practices. I mean, how could you ever be qualified to make such a call? Win or lose, if Cliff is the best QB right now, he'll be the best QB after this week, too, barring injury or some dramatic, impossible downturn in overall skill level, or some amazing 1 week jump in ability/knowledge by Allar.

Stop tripping over your own feet trying to stick to this "never question the coaches" nonsense.

I'm just glad the coaching staff finally saw what everyone else has been seeing for weeks now ... that the TEs, middle routes (seams) and vertgame have been underutilized. Hopefully they'll keep learning from non-gym teachers.

Exciting to see this knowing he's got another two years of eligibility!

REally...oh no.....I mean we all know Cliff is single handedly "holding US back" from the playoffs.
Why do the coaches refuse to put the best players in the game?
I mean we can all see this from our couches.

Holding us back from the playoffs? Not this year, but with the redshirt for Allar burned it certainly isn't helping for the next couple of years either since he hasn't had any significant playing time.

Allar's redshirt means dick. He isn't staying here 4 years let alone 5. LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
If he's the second coming (and not like the other 5 star paper tiger) what on God's earth makes you foolish enough to think he's spending another 3 years here? Is it 1990?

Exactly why I think Allar should have been starting from game one this year. He's gone after three years, or sooner given the portal.

Hey Coach. I have question for you.

Why is it that PSU regularly releases a RB out into the left flat only to have Clifford initially look right and never turn his head further than the center of the field so as to find said uncovered RB? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yet, later in the game when Allar enters, he is able to effortlessly scan the field and even dump the ball off to an uncovered RB in the left flat ?

You of all people should be able to easily explain this phenomena

You are aware that Cliff's completion percentage and QB ratings are both better than Allars? So I'm not sure that Allar has "effortlessly" done anything better then SC. My guess is its a case of what one desperately wants to see.
First of all evaluating anything Allar does based on his very limited PT and the circumstances they have occurred in is silly. If I want to be silly like his worshipers.....I'd say he looked a bit stiff the other night and 1 of his 2 passes sailed badly over the receivers head. Where as Clifford in similar PT threw touchdown bomb after bomb...in 2018 with a QB rating of .400 ....remember?
Admittedly, I have not observed the tendency that you claim has occurred, However, I can say that generally speaking, few pass plays are designed to make a back in the flat as a primary receiver. While I am cognizant of the fact that much has changed since I left the game......and so I am not as knowledgeable as most fans......we coached qbs to look deep to short. I assume that would be a factor in "progressions.?
Finally, I will say definitively that PSU Allar "is the answer' fanboys will be sorely disappointed once Allar gets a few games under his belt. This because he is human and will actually throw ints and fall short of perfection.
My other stone solid prediction is that these fanboys will blame the coaching staff for whatever shortcomings Allar displays.
Unless he stays longer than they decide is prudent....then they will boo him too.
A head coach that has 9 more years has an obligation to do his very best to field the most competitive team possible this season and whenever possible lay the foundation for future success. That's why SC is the starter and DA will continue to get as many snaps as that goal permits. DA may supplant SC should injury be a factor or the season goes south as we witnessed last year.
Fans who think they know better who should play than an entire room of D1 coaches are beyond delusional.
Try to let this sink in. There are 65 power five head football coaching jobs in the world.
There are literally millions of football fans. Do you really think a fan knows or sees something a D1 coach does not?

Ending the season with a 10-3 record, is a very respectable account of the team and coaches. The backup QB is always a fan fovorite if the team loses. Allar will move up next year.

actually, it was your moronic interpretation of his position
LOL. His position is so unthinking and childish. It's impossible to interpret it any more moronically than what it actually is. It's a parody of itself.

No way to confirm it, but a few current PSU students (kids of friends) at our tailgate said nobody on campus likes Clifford. I replied that’s probably because they view him as a father figure.
Seriously?

Yep. That’s what 3 current undergraduates - who had never met each other before - told us. I have no idea if it’s actually true or a rumor that’s going around campus since none of them said they personally dislike Clifford (although all three wished he was better).

Only 1 of the 3 got my father figure crack.

Ah, well, come January SC will be in the rear-view mirror football-wise. It should be a very interesting Spring Practice.
Doesn't he have a medical redshirt left (god forbid he actually gets hurt)?

Hoping CJF hires him as QB coach and gives him a 9 year contract. I'd hate to see what all the Clifford haters would do with their time without their favorite foil.

You have to stop being such a drama queen and leg humper, dude. I don't dislike Clifford. He's just a limited QB and we have a better option now. If he's the right man for the job, I'd welcome him as a coach in this organization.
