As someone who thought Allar should have started from game one, what you say about #44 is true.
Listen, I'm not being a dick. But everyone should have understood that there was a plan to play Clifford: 1. Until Allar was clearly better (in practice), or until PSU was no longer in contention for a conference championship.
MY evidence? Clifford had to be asked to come back.....PSU did not owe him a 6th year.....so there is/was a plan.
#2 If DA and his parents didn't like the plan....he could have threatened to decommit and go elsewhere.
I expect we'll see more of Allar at this point.....start? IDK
Allar would have been wearing #44 as a jersey just like Cliff, if he was in there. It's hard to believe any rational, knowledgeable observer could think differently.
Look, if you have a running back and he can't get back to the LOS without being hit, do you blame him?
No, you look to the OL. The OL played well for the most part, but PSU, especially the RT, couldn't slow up #44.
The pick 6 is a timing play and all the OT needs to do is hit #44 below the waist so he can't jump up and block the throw......
we couldn't even do that.
I was encouraged overall. A young team at many positions and this team competed with #2. Let's hope they progress and send 9-3 or 10-2 momentum into next season.
