Interesting. Like someone above, I wonder what the turnout was. I noticed a whole lot of apathy in Democrats I talked to. Plenty of dislike of Trump, but not much enthusiasm for Harris.

Yeah tongue in cheek. It definitely was a mandate to fix cost of living and immigration. Stop focusing on the margins and get back to being able to eat on your paycheck. Not sure sure it was a mandate to assemble the cabinet from Idiocracy though...

Gaetz won't make it. The WSJ says there are at least 4 and possibly as many as 30 GOP Senators who will vote no on him.
This is why Trump didn't get involved with the Senate leadership elections....he preferred Scott, but told Thune he'd stay out of it if he gives him recess appointments. It gives his picks(Gaetz) an automatic 2 years in the Cabinet without confirmation, at which time a certain governor in Florida is wrapping up his term. Enjoy.

Well the point of these handful such as Gaetz and Gabbard is that they both were needlessly attacked by the very agencies they are being put in charge of in an attempt to ruin them for political reasons. I agree more typically qualified choices could have been made but I think a large portion of the country think most of the alphabet agencies need gutting and reforming. Who better to do that than a domestic terrorist ex vet/senator who was put on the no fly list ?? Or a guy who was investigated for sex trafficking by the DOJ for several months with all kinds of public leaks yet never charged with a crime ??
Overall, the cabinet is good so far.

I get having doubt about RFK. I would rather Rand Paul or someone else. But we knew this was probably coming bc of the endorsement, so...here we are. Not too worried, bc our institutions are strong enough to keep him from doing too much damage. If that weren't the case, all the cross dressing kleptomaniacs we've had in DC for the last 4 years would've already ruined the place.
Outside of those two, I'm not seeing anything that warrants any real complaints. Lots of hand wringing from idiots too stupid to comment intelligently on anything serious (the View, Rachel Maddow, and the like), but nothing tangible.
That's possible, but it's hard to take people seriously complaining about the current picks when they were quiet about the prior ones. The picks generally aren't who I would pick. But they do generally have reason to hate the branch they are taking over, either because they've been the victim of its weaponization or because they take the incompetence personally. That's not really enough to qualify somebody for a cabinet position, but again, if you haven't been complaining loudly about the current occupants, you aren't really worried about cabinet positions being filled by people that are qualified.

Nazi's were not socialist in the same way no communist regimes have ever been communists. It really is the darndest of luck that that 100% of communists regimes and most socialists ones turn into murderous dictatorships.
