Why don’t you create a BWICAC thread where you and your buddies can circle jerk to your hearts’ content and stop polluting nearly every thread with your dimwitted and unwarranted attacks on fellow posters/PSU fans?
I enjoy this. Especially when I get responses like yours!

Onward State reporting he is gone to Clemson... and that Singleton is still a student despite not being in directory
Maybe Singleton is not in the directory because he is on Double Secret Probation?

On the plus side, I’ve offered my services to Franklin as a card-carrying member of the BWICAC. I’ve got this.
I offered to be his short yardage run game coordinator/analyst several seasons ago. I think his response must have been lost in the mail? :cautious:

The article headline says Singleton still enrolled, but the article itself does not state that.
I think unfortunately, we may lose the dynamic duo. I have heard over time that Allen has tested the "waters" frequently." He's not terribly unhappy (since he hasn't left to date) but he wants more $$$ and likely to be the bell cow. Obviously he hasn't found that deal.....but it's not comfortable knowing that he's been looking.

Damn, not much stability with our coordinators. $$$ talks, I guess.

I'm surprised I haven't seen the rumor mills swirling yet with speculation about Kotelnicki being sought to fill a HC vacancy.

On the topic of DC, Dex was passed for Manny and Tom Allen, is Dex content as a
position coach or is he waiting for a HC job ?
D'Anton Lynn was in Franklin's sites last year but USC picked him up from UCLA.
D'Anton , is a Penn Stater, and USC seems to have multiple problems.

I watched the entire team this year. I know the WRs did not perform, but they have not performed in a couple of years - did you watch the WRs in the last couple of years? If you are looking at the WRs, then AK did not do more with less - he did less with the same.

2022 - 35.8 ppg;
2023 - 37.6 ppg

2024 - 33.9 ppg

So, AK is down 1.9.3.7 PPG, with the the same WR problems and issues. And, PSU had a better running game in 2024 than 2023 team did. But still less points per game.
And what position group on Penn State’s defense was anywhere close to being as weak as the WRs on offense? I’ll wait.

I would love to hear the scuttlebutt on the Allen move. It doesn't make any sense.

I for one did not think he was anyone to write home about. So I am hopefully the next guy will be better. It really bothered me that no matter the opponent, there would be receivers that did not have a defender within 10 feet of them.

Family has been mentioned. Beyond that?
Okay, I already took a stab at it.
1. He took the job shortly after being canned. I'm sure he was excited to get the offer so quickly. Everyone wants to have a "home" especially after being rejected
2. I speculate that he had to make "concessions" to get the job. James wants/needs to keep that side of the staff happy. Terry, Dex etc. have a great deal of input. Also, I think he was expected to make his defense as "friendly" to Manny's schemes as possible. This was a no brainer with so much returning talent.
3. Sometimes you agree to things and then you have time to see how it actually works. My guess its family, and an opportunity for full autonomy in running the defense. I don't think he was going to get it here with Poindexter, Smith, Barnes and Conner on the staff.

ps As I stated in an earlier post. The negotiations have been going on for days. Either Franklin didn't want to keep Allen or he couldn't give him the situation he wanted.
There were 2 situations that raised my eyebrows on Thursday, where (LB) King was mismatched and PSU got burned. That shouldn't happen.

Allen won’t make or break anything. Cash grab. Hope he sends some to Carter because he’s going to suck at Clemson with their trash defense.

Maybe he didn’t like wearing Navy. He always wore Black at IU, so maybe Dabo will let him wear black.

Yeah- give Rojas as chance if your going to put an linebacker on them, King is a good run stuffing LB but not so great in coverage.

Watching King try to cover a WR caused a huge F-Bomb. That was enough for me. Headed to SC to help him pack!

Closer to his wife, daughters and grandchildren. Tom's a devout Christian I'm told ,so that's a good fit. I wish him well.

He can’t move them with his salary? Wish him nothing but failure. Not that it matters….

Allen didn't leave voluntarily.

He wasn't a good fit at PSU. Go look the interactions (or lack thereof) he had with the players early in the year when he was actually allowed on the sideline. The players not being able to understand his raspy voice was just cover to get him away from the players.

He's fortunate he was able to take over a very talented group that allowed him to look good and parlay this year into another gig. We'll see how he does at Clemson.

Somewhat related, it is impossible for me to think of Dan Conner and not chuckle over the prank calls incident.
