Not gonna be popular here.....and I think he's not a candidate.....but for Nebraska, I'd choose Urbs.
urban meyer isn’t coaching at a non-AAU school.

As does Bill Callahan.Bo wants a piece of the action.
Why not? He already coached Bowling Green and has been rumored to always be interested in Notre Dame.urban meyer isn’t coaching at a non-AAU school.
The crazy part is that Fickell has turned down MSU and basically said he wasn't interested in USC - when they inquired - and moving to the West Coast. He's a Midwest boy. His 1st love - of course - is his alma mater OSU but he's also a devout Catholic and it's well known that he would also take the Notre Dame HC position. What did ND do? Offer an assistant (Freeman) with absolutely no HC experience basically because his players liked him. Think they're regretting it now?So who are there realistic options?
Luke Fickell?
Matt Rhule?
Mike Gundy?
Dave Aranda?
Urban Meyer?
Rhule or BOB could be in play. Probably need an NFL guy over some rando assistant.
ND is cheap. Those narcissists in the administration think coaches should pay them to coach the almighty ND football team. The crazy part is that Fickell has turned down MSU and basically said he wasn't interested in USC - when they inquired - and moving to the West Coast. I don’t see Rhule going to Corn-land. He’s currently employed and not that desperate.Rhule makes a lot of sense for them. I don't see BOB going back to college.

Just read on a Nebraska board that Urban's already on campus checking out the young, available coeds which will be a determining factor
From what I have read they are expecting Matt Campbell. According to one of their more reliable inside sources. Who knows
I read today that they are targeting Campbell of Iowa State.
Yeah. I’m thinking that in part it was an effort to thank Frost for his services to the program, just a token of respect.Wow....is all I can say. IIRC that buyout drop was pretty big. Couldn't wait 3 weeks?
Exactly. $7.5 million isn’t all that much for a B1G football program these days. Maybe they called Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger for a donation.Yeah. I’m thinking that in part it was an effort to thank Frost for his services to the program, just a token of respect.
Then they were wasting their time, Charlie's money goes to Michigan, though Warren is particularly fond of student newspaper that covers UNL.Exactly. $7.5 million isn’t all that much for a B1G football program these days. Maybe they called Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger for a donation.
Campbell would get $4MM from Nebby to pay off that clause. Not that big of a deal.I doubt they have a specific target in place. It's early in the CFB season. It's unlikely that any school that has a coach under contract would give permission for kNU to speak to their coach before the end of this season. Alberts indicated that kNU will be contracting with a search firm, and he'll also be reaching out to those in the industry for opinions, names, etc.
FWIW, Campbell signed a contract extension with Iowa State in Feb. 2021. His contract runs through 2028, and it includes a clause that Campbell would owe Iowa State $4 million if he leaves Iowa St. at any point before his contract ends on Dec. 31, 2028.
Couldn’t happen to a bigger bunch of losers! The crazy part is that Fickell has turned down MSU and basically said he wasn't interested in USC - when they inquired - and moving to the West Coast. They put up with Gerry Faust for five years. I am sure they are disappointed, but I think you are being premature in your assertion as to their happiness or regret. The crazy part is that Fickell has turned down MSU and basically said he wasn't interested in USC - when they inquired - and moving to the West Coast. Probably not a bad choice...Go BoLol. Maybe they can bring back Bo P.
Sadly, tokens of respect for me are much smaller.Yeah. I’m thinking that in part it was an effort to thank Frost for his services to the program, just a token of respect.
I don't think you have to worry about a supposition. Everything I have seen and heard pretty much points to that....and that Frost knew his time was going to be short pretty much after the Northwestern game. With not waiting three weeks to save the athletic department $7.5 million dollars, do you suppose some wealthy Nebraska boosters called Alberts and said, "Not another dime unless you fire Frost now!"
My hunch is that convo happend last season and Albert went way out on a limb to give Frost another chance. With not waiting three weeks to save the athletic department $7.5 million dollars, do you suppose some wealthy Nebraska boosters called Alberts and said, "Not another dime unless you fire Frost now!"
