I used to see this in travel ball tournaments and called Bush League then. However, its really on the SEC for having a Bush League rule of an inning can't start past 4:30 on Sunday to allow time for travel. This is not grade school kids, rule needs to be changed. What is the difference in a Wed night 8 pm basketball game.

not sure all teams travel private... they've got to travel commercial. Flight leaves when the flight leaves.

Time is agreed upon prior to the weekend even starting and approved by the SEC office.

While i dont like the rule either...its not like either side didnt realize what was going on well prior too, so they could plan accordingly

I’ll be honest. I did this in church league softball once. It was the only time I ever walked and maybe one of 3 at-bats where I actually ‘took’ a pitch. We were the home team, up like 2, and had 2 outs and the clock was under a minute. Not my proudest moment, but we were in first place. 🤣

It may not be pretty, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

We did the opposite a time or two in the old travel ball days. Last place hitter up with two outs and nobody on base up against the clock. Told him to bunt standing on plate so new inning would start and we'd get 3 more outs in the bottom of the inning with the top of our lineup. That's kind of when you know it starts to be about winning and not the development of the kids.

I'm going to need a Jomboy lip-reading.
