On the heels of the Mizzou game, our offense is...brace yourself....nearly a full TD/game worse this year compared to last year. You remember last year? We had to play 4 different QBs, including a grad assistant, an FCS transfer, one with a bum foot and a converted WR? Yeah, THAT offense managed to put up 27.4 ppg. This years offense is scoring to the tune of 20.7 ppg.

I was about to launch in a paragraph-long diatribe, but I think those numbers say it all.

:sigh:

Can't be true. I was told our OC was going to show great improvement with the upgrade at qb, and a healty Lloyd.

I'm assuming you have made a mistake with your numbers.

Wanna know something scary? Even the 2020 team was better than this team, putting up 23 ppg against an all SEC slate.

Satterfield has done the impossible and created an offense worse than Muschamp/Bobo.

The OC may very well be the problem. I can’t say for sure, not being or having been one. What is for sure? Lack of enough talent. A qb who has not lived up to expectations and apparently they have no confidence in Doty. A great running back who can’t stay healthy and a big drop off behind him. Pretty much the same at wr. Gotta have more depth than that. Even Spurrier didn’t do well until more talent started coming in

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I don't think any of this is correct. We're you the same guy that claimed we were ranked 240th or something like that a few weeks ago?

I'm gonna go ahead and call Fake News on this one, per ESPN...

2021: 294 points all that year. 28 from defensive scores. 266 points/13 games = 20.46 points per game
2022: 242 points this year. 28 from ST. 214 points/8 games = 26.75 point per game

We are actually a full touchdown BETTER this year on offense so far.

That being said, I expected more improvement this year. Not much improvement at all in SEC games so far. We'll see how the last 5 games play out.

It’ll get worse with UT, UF and Clemp pending.

Well...you don't have to have been one to know that the OC is in charge of the offense with the HC's blessing and while being watched. Those two work in concert to formulate game plans, make crucial in game decisions, recruit and attract the talent to fit a certain scheme that the OC has sold the HC on believing in....so yeah - it MIGHT very well be the OC (*and HC). Or I guess it could be everyone else like you suggest. Maybe the coke vendors should be thrown in as part of the problem too?

Has there been poor execution? Sure. No team executes perfectly. But it's on the coaches to get them to execute better. It's also on the coaches to get the players to buy into the offensive system. Our players obviously don't have confidence in what we're doing.

Well then, how do you explain Spurrier struggles in his first few years? It was lack of enough talent imo

One of the secrets to Vince Dooleys success was his selection of assistant coaches. He made necessary changes throughout his career. Conversely he hung on to coaches like Erk Russell who were producing results. I observed several changes of the guard over the years. There were many involuntary separation. Head coaches have to suck it up and do what’s good for the program.
