The cost of storming the field has gone up. Just $100K for Vandy as a first offense, while it was Arkansas' second.

Expensive, but still sounds like it's just the going rate for a 3* lineman. Probably should up the rate if player safety is a real concern.

I'm sure the Whistler had that amount in his wallet to cover it right then and there.

Nashville FD fished the goalposts out of the Cumberland River Sunday morning and took them back to Vandy. It's time for a historic Vandy football fundraiser.

An NCAA goal post has 68.5' of pipe in it. Cut that goalpost into 6" (137 pieces) pieces and charge just $730 for each and you've covered your $100,000 fine.

Put the piece on a block of wood with a date on it, charge $1000 for each 6" piece and make $137,000 on it.

Put it on a block of wood, cut it into 2" pieces and you get 412 pieces, charge $1000 ea and you make $412,000.

Many people are saying, "They will gladly pay for it!"

But I don't think it is worth it:
  1. Storming the field is overrated.
  2. It is potentially dangerous.
  3. I'd rather my program have $100k.
Storming the field communicates that you don't expect to win.

I'm glad that when we beat Auburn to climb to the #1 ranking, we didn't storm the field: WE EXPECTED TO WIN.

I was gonna suggest they get some team members to sign it.....but then they have to split the profits.

They should put it back up using duct tape. Not game legal, but would make a great pic.

I thought about this when i heard Kyle field chanting "Overrated" when they beat Mizzou. Doesn't that sorta tarnish your win a little to say you beat an 'overrated" team?
