Concur for the most part, but at this point I don't think Misery is a toss up.W Eastern Kentucky no way we lose this one
W Arizona State toss up, they were 3-9 last year
W Toledo toss up, they were decent last year
W Florida toss up but State wins
L Texas
L Georgia
L A&M
W Arkansas no way we lose this one
W UMass no way we lose this one
L Tennessee
W Missouri toss up, QB battle
L Ole Miss
3 locks
4 toss ups (I think we win 2 for sure, but I think we win all 4 toss ups with the offense.)
I think you will be safe on over 3.5.
It may be this year.I don’t feel like four wins with EKU, Toledo, UMass, Arizona State, and Arkansas on the schedule is asking very much.
1 to 1Question. Is that a 1 to 1 payoff or are they laying odds on that?
Unless you’re the team playing MSU….****When it’s Mississippi State, it’s never easy money.
So….MSU is overdue?*****We haven’t won less than 5 games in 16 years (not including Leach’s COVID year).
You don’t think we can beat a team at home that we beat last year on the road in spite of being terrible or go 3-1/4-0 against a not particularly good nonconference schedule? It may be this year.
If that game is within 30 points, we’re in big troubleHere’s one more prediction:
Let the EKU game be reasonably close, and SPS will be like:
When was the last time we even had a close game against an FCS? Samford 2016? Before that I think you have to go back to the Maine… we just don’t have many close FCS games in recent history. If that game is within 30 points, we’re in big trouble
That same team beat #4 aTm. And went on to become the foundation of some of the most talented teams of our era. Of course, we wasted it.When was the last time we even had a close game against an FCS? Samford 2016? Before that I think you have to go back to the Maine… we just don’t have many close FCS games in recent history.
Hopefully we can pull it off. That being said there is absolutely no evidence based case for optimism. You don’t think we can beat a team at home that we beat last year on the road in spite of being terrible or go 3-1/4-0 against a not particularly good nonconference schedule?
Those five games consist of:
An FCS team
A G5 team that went 3-9 last year
Two P5 teams that won 4 games or fewer last yesr
A MAC team that lost its entire offense
No, it’s not asking much to go 4-1 in that stretch.
Yeah. He didnt think that one through. Missouri is pre- season top 10. They'll beat us like a drum. Pittman will be fighting for his life at Ark, so that game will be tough for us, too.Concur for the most part, but at this point I don't think Misery is a toss up.
lol I just gave you an evidence based case. We’ve got issues but the other teams I mentioned have bigger ones.Hopefully we can pull it off. That being said there is absolutely no evidence based case for optimism.
You don’t even know what your talking about L4.It may be this year.
Well, your post sure makes it sound like a total rebuild. You don’t even know what your talking about L4.
You really haven’t done any research have you. Defenses isn’t going to be great but it will be about what we were last year with better DL play, and I really like our LBs and safety’s. The OL has potentially three NFL guys in Minor, Pounders and Bell, hell Reese has NFL size just has to put it together. I love love our WRs room and RB room. Qb is going to surprise some people Shapen is a better athlete and has a better arm than what we had last fours years. . This isn’t a total rebuild like you assume.
So we added people from the portal to start oh umm just like I don’t know every single SEC team … and to your lame brain that constitutes a total rebuild. I mean I kinda knew that you were ignorant before but these takes you have in two threads kinda confirms it.Well, your post sure makes it sound like a total rebuild.
Well, when you only have two starters back, that is usually considered a total rebuild. So we added people from the portal to start oh umm just like I don’t know every single SEC team … and to your lame brain that constitutes a total rebuild. Here is what your mind set is along with Pat and 85….a SEC teams adds WR DL and OL help from portal to start and L4 says.. that team just got better they are about to win 9-10 games beat state by 20…. Now State added WR OL DL help from portal oh it’s a Total rebuild…. You are so damn wrong and negative
Mississippi brought in 1 5* and 7 4* transfers. We brought in 1 4* and a bunch of 3*. We actually have the lowest transfer portal class in the SEC, while they have the #1 ranked class in the country. But yeah, we brought in some guys and they brought in some guys, so it's all the same. **So we added people from the portal to start oh umm just like I don’t know every single SEC team … and to your lame brain that constitutes a total rebuild. Stars aren’t everything, but it’s a fact if you recruit a lot of highly ranked players, you’re almost always going to be better than a team that recruits lowly ranked players. For every Dak Prescott, there’s thousands of 2* players you never heard of.All this star talk coming from a fanbase that should have learned about the star system scam many many moons ago. You know the former quarterback and current starting quarterback for the cowboys was a 2 star with one other offer from ut Martin, but they continue to think it’s all about 10th grade stars instead of development….and I’d bet development is exactly what’s been going on behind your hard-headed prying eyes.
as for development, that’s much less important in todays constant transfer portal world, especially for transfers in.
Yeah. Dabo is screwed if he doesn’t change his way of doing things. Projected 15th with 4 losses by FPI. That’s a long way from his prime times.if you truly believe that, then you should shove in all your chips and bet against Dabo Sweeney at Clemson. Since they don’t use the transfer portal and are all in on development.
The most overrated stat with the portal is returning starters. Again weak argument shocker L4 weak takeWell, when you only have two starters back, that is usually considered a total rebuild.
And several of those star transfers weren’t retained from their previous school and are injured to the point two may not be available first games. But sure. Let’s compareMississippi brought in 1 5* and 7 4* transfers. We brought in 1 4* and a bunch of 3*. I hope you are right. For what’s it’s worth, FPI projects them at #16 and 8-4. They won’t be happy with that return on their investment. And several of those star transfers weren’t retained from their previous school and are injured to the point two may not be available first games. There is some issues going on up there I’ll leave it at thatI hope you are right. For what’s it’s worth, FPI projects them at #16 and 8-4. They won’t be happy with that return on their investment.
If you have to hit the portal hard then that is a big rebuild by definition. Oh, and our portal class doesn't look to be that great. That we needed to bring it in tells you about all you need to know. The most overrated stat with the portal is returning starters. Again weak argument shocker L4 weak take
Tsun has the #1 ranked class in the country? What poll and what Yr? Does #247 combine transfers with H.S. Seniors?Mississippi brought in 1 5* and 7 4* transfers. We brought in 1 4* and a bunch of 3*. You "Assume" but you don't REALLY "Know".I know we won't be good this year, but starting 3-0 against our schedule is not that far-fetched, even for a pretty bad team. Now, 2-1 is pretty likely too, and 1-2 isn't out of the question. But it's not like 3-0 would take some monumental feat.
See link. This is transfer class only.Tsun has the #1 ranked class in the country? What poll and what Yr? Does #247 combine transfers with H.S. Seniors?
Thanks. They are #1 only by quantity not quality though. Prime Time's doing his thing again too and it crashed and burned last year after a brief good start. Figuring out how to juggle all these new players in a short period of time can be disastrous or it could work. We'll see soon.See link. This is transfer class only.

Anyone who bets on potential outcomes from a first-year head coach has a much higher risk tolerance than I do. Any MSU fan who bets on us to do/not do anything in particular needs to be evaluated. Our sports teams always find a way to defy hope, logic and reason...From LeftField Lounger :
“Since the Vegas under/over win totals were released, Mississippi State has moved from 4.5 wins on the season to just 4 wins on the season. There is still a pretty heavy bet from America that State does not win 4 games. We could see that number drop to 3.5 wins by the time the season starts”
any idea why the win totals are dropping ? Injuries or someone ineligible ?
Arent rumors still encouraged here especially if it's bad stuff on tsun? Spill it. Don't tease. There is some issues going on up there I’ll leave it at that
