2 words.

Jimbo. Fisher.
I think there's something to be said about the attitude or mindset of a blue chip kid. If he's convinced he just needs to cruise for 3 years and cash in (NFL) you've got a coaching problem. I wouldn't want the head aches these entitled prima donnas bring with them today. I like the type of kid PSU recruits. Not saying anyone is perfect. But it's tough to coach and play a team game when the 11 guys on the field are all wearing different colored jerseys under their pads.

Texas A&M is hemorrhaging 5 stars.
Yeah. Something stinks in College Station and I think its name is Jimbo. They are going to turn on him quickly. The boosters dumped a lot of money into that program and they aren’t getting the results. He is on the hottest of hot seats.

This reminds me of something Herm Edwards said a few years ago. He said something to the effect that coaching in college is coaching a team. Coaching in the NFL is like coaching 53 individuals. Unfortunately, now NIL will probably make both leagues seem the same.

True. But remember that 5 star talent doesn't always come packaged with 5 star attitude, character and work ethic.
My experience is that you need talent to win.....but to build a strong edifice you need bricks and mortar.

Can I say once again....generally ratings are important. How about Texas A&M....how are they doing with their blue chips?
It's not just statistics. How about Texas? They had pretty good classes past three years.
I get what you are saying and I agree with you, but you can’t ignore that UGA, Ohio State, and Alabama have landed at the top of the recruiting rankings over the last several years and those teams also happen to make the playoffs every year.

Not ignoring. Just saying that's not the entire story.

I’m sorry, but I’m afraid bricks and mortar left with the portal. The days of getting kids and developing them for a few years before they are a big contributor on your roster are gone. College football isn’t as we knew it in the past. If you aren’t contributing by year 2 (maybe 3 by a generous coach?) you will be replaced by a recruit or a transfer. I don’t like it, but that’s reality now.
