They are definitely not saying this is a pick'em. The line is mostly -6 and HFA advantage is down to about 2 to 2.5 for places like Philly, so that is probably Eagles -3.5 to -4 on a neutral. The weather likely has no point spread implication. Not cold or windy enough to have a big impact.

That said, the Rams definitely scare me. If I had to choose one dark horse team to get to the super bowl, it would be the Rams.
from your lips....

Yeah. I wonder how this impacts Kevin O’Connell if at all? He’s been good but this is now two playoff appearances where his team was upset in round one.

Both losses were to teams ripe for a beating.
He’s safe. People here like him. And look what he got out of Darnold this season and the mess he had at QB last season after Cousins got hurt. Unfortunately for him though, there was a tight window to achieve. They’ll possibly go with JJ/Daniel Jones next season, lose a bunch of guys and likely be a .500 team the next couple of years. Tough division too.

Rams don’t scare me. Now I think we’ll meet the commodores in the nfc finals. They scare me
Veteran QB over a rookie in the playoffs every time. I would be surprised if Detroit is ever in real danger of losing that game. On the other hand, I'm already seeing a Westside lion post of "whelp, this his how you get upset" sometime in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. I think this one is going to be close.

Detroit seems to be really hit bad injury-wise on D. Washington will score points. And about Westside, this is how he copes, how he stays sane during the games. He’d tell you that himself. The man loves his Eagles.

That's 100% my coping mechanism. And the Eagles don't make it easy!

I think Detroit wins comfortably. I do not like Washington in a 38-35 shootout. Daniels may try to do too much. Washington needs to hope Goff turns the ball over a few times and Daniels does some magical things to win a 21-20 type of game.

And I won’t be broken hearted if Detroit wins, I’ve liked the franchise ever since I read “Paper Lion.”

Apropos of nothing, my dad would cope by blaming the refs or some conspiracy. My sister was All-State Cross Country (she ran for Pitt) and this one time she ran a marathon in Fairmont Park when she was a junior or senior in high school. There was this 12-year-old girl who ended up running in the Olympics for France a decade or so later and she beat my sister by like 15 minutes. My dad: “I bet she took a shortcut.”

Oh I know. Just using WSL to make a point and bust his balls a bit.

I'm keenly aware of Detroit's defensive injuries. They got Anzalone back and looked much better on D. I'm sure Washington will score, but their defense is not that special either. I see them playing from behind for most of the game. I hope I'm wrong, as I would much prefer to see Detroit ousted.

Running against 12-year-old future Olympians is a good recipe for getting upset at home in the playoffs. SMH.

Daniels is a bit of an X factor and X factors on young teams help with these crazy upsets. I'd still call it a 15% likelihood (tops) but that's why they play the game. And who knows if Detroit will show some rust after the layoff?

Recall that Campbell's "gut feel" was to play his starters full throttle through week 18. Who knows how they react to a week off.

Did you say Minnesota teams and playoffs?

@Grant Green , I think fans and pundits will be watching the Eagles offense closely this week. Hurts was coming back from a layoff and Green Bay may have played its game of the year on defense, but the Philly offense didn't look capable of winning 4 and a title.

It's one game and, most importantly, a win, but they need to step up in pass play calling and execution. The defense is a rock. The bar for this team is a title. It absolutely has the talent and makeup to get there. Hopefully it will.

I tend to lean to the rust factor for Hurts. I think the passing game will come back. With regard to Hurts, I'm more concerned about the careless turnovers we've seen in the past. One of those very possibly caused the Eagles to lose the SB to the Chiefs.

Oh, no way KC wins that Super Bowl without the scoop and score. That was a franchise changer.

@s1uggo72 well, I couldn't have been more wrong on the first part. Goff with 5 turnovers made all the difference in this game.
Now, if there are a few inches of snow at game time tomorrow, I like the Eagles better than the Rams. Maybe still close in the first half.
