Admittedly, that was my first reaction. After reflection, what would be the net gain for lashing out at the team publicly? It might make us (fans) feel better that the boys are chastised for disappointing us. That isn't his job. I think we both know there will be more than a few come to Jesus moments this week.I really wish Franklin was as defiant on the field and to his players as he is to the media. Just wonderful play acting trying to convince us that he was actually happy with that performance or that the effort yesterday, at any any point, approximated his multiple uses of "awesome." I really don't know what insecurities are being protected by his play acting? His? The players? ACs? Either way, weird watching a coach clearly upset unable to say he is upset. Would be nothing, to borrow his word from last weeks press conference...."devisive" about admitting the team didn't play to their standard. They weren't prepared by the coaches to the standard.
Thats a reasonable take. He just seems so defensive about his program and I guess I wonder if its what is best for the team to reach their goals. Im not one for old school coaches that yell and get in the faces of coaches and players, but I think he needs to do it more. For one, I thought the offensive line showed very little effort yesterday and I would have chewed them and trautwein out bit time....maybe in the press conference too. Did you see the look on Manny's face?

But there’s a place for love. Not in this society.
I'm sure the position coaches are the designated bad guys.Thats a reasonable take. Its not resonating, especially om the lineI'm sure the position coaches are the designated bad guys.
Perhaps. I wonder how many posters here get 100 positive results when they "chew out" their children. The problem with football is there is actually another team conditioned to prevent you from being successful. Its not resonating, especially om the line
...maybe it needs to start coming from the top

Don't confuse fanboys with facts. CJF is no higher than #12 in college football. I suggest he's under paid. Brace yourself. After the bloodletting at the end of this season, he won't be top 15. If he wins 10 or 11...there will be an adjustment...if he stays. If Franklin were worth half of what we pay him, he would put a stop to that other team trying crap.
Yeah, you either do it one of two ways, the head coach is the dick and the position coaches are the nice guys or the position coaches are dicks and the head coach is the nice guy.I'm sure the position coaches are the designated bad guys.
You geniuses ignore one fact. That is the boss is always responsible. He can't duck it, it is part of the job description. Accountability for a program, every part of it, goes back to the head man. He hired the assistants, he recruited the players, he trained them, he signed off on the gameplan.Yeah, you either do it one of two ways, the head coach is the dick and the position coaches are the nice guys or the position coaches are dicks and the head coach is the nice guy.

a holesIf the coaches are dicks, what does that make us?
One can only hope. The outrage will continue to amuse and entertain me.So we’re going to have to pony up more bread for James?

Dick watchers? Dick critics? If the coaches are dicks, what does that make us?
Yeh, it will. You do enjoy defending him like he is your brother in law. He DESERVES $8.5 million. He has EARNED it hasn't he?One can only hope. The outrage will continue to amuse and entertain me.
