Drinkwitz was HC at App st before he went to Columbia. FYI.Let's talk about the Indiana Head Coach. Wasn't he a sitting head coach somewhere else last year?
Let's talk about Jed Fisch. Didn't he turn Arizona around from a 1 win team and parlayed it to the Washington Job?
How about the guy at Arizona State now. Sitting at 5-1 after only winning 3 last year. Where was he a coach at 2 years ago?
Are there ANY new Head Coaches this year having success that were Head Coaches somewhere else last year? Or are only Coordinators turned HC this year the success stories I realize it took the Missouri Coach a couple of years to get it going in Columbia. And Freeze sucks at Auburn after having success at Liberty. But why is it State needed to hire a coordinator a take 4 years to possible have the success "Vanderbilt" is having? Vanderfreakingbilt!!!
4 years to get it right fell by the wayside with the advent of multi million $$ coaches contracts and NIL. There is no more team development period to win, you MAY get 3 years max. First year you gotta do better than the last guy and I don't mean 1 win better. 2nd year you show significant improvement. Year 3 if you backslide in this era that you can import and export players like Chinese trinkets, you are on thin ice with a short leash (or noose) pulled tight around your neck. You can tell your grandkids about that 4 year rule when y'all are discussing history and the good old daysIt only took Lea 3 years to exceed expectations in his 4th year (even if he loses out). You just gotta hire the right guy and give him 4 years. Only problem is it’s a dice roll on who the right guy is, just look at all the bigger programs striking out on the bigger names. And if you lost that dice roll 4 years ago and want to cut bait and try again then you’re just stuck rolling the dice again.
TAMU was loaded with talent. Just needed someone who wasn’t an idiot to coach them up. Comparing that to our situation is disingenuous.Mike Elko success in year one every where he’s been. Don’t give me the need 4 years bull cral.
Like drafting a QB1 in the NFL.It only took Lea 3 years to exceed expectations in his 4th year (even if he loses out). You just gotta hire the right guy and give him 4 years. It may be cliche but the 11 man game will always be won at the line of scrimmage no matter what league it is.Comparing ourselves to the other schools in the conference, we dont look like the rest. We don’t physically have the build of a sec roster. On the offensive and defensive lines there is a dramatic “look” difference from us and everyone else. And that’s where we have to focus our recruiting and NIL efforts. It’s cliche but the SEC is still won on the line of scrimmage and we “look” closer to USM than anyone on our schedule.

Let this sink in. A lineman took a step up from State and went to Vandy. Ouch. The Vandy coach has been there four seasons. He said last night it wasn't until the end of last season he changed what he was doing. He was doing it wrong. He went out and found better coaches and hit the portal to get the talent. Hell, he even has one of our O Lineman. It does not take four years anymore. The portal has changed everything. Two years max.
You are skipping years and revising history. Fisch went 1-11 then 5-7 THEN had his good year which included a LOSS to MSU. Dillingham went 3-9 last year.Let's talk about the Indiana Head Coach. Wasn't he a sitting head coach somewhere else last year?

Don't waste your time with logic, reason and facts, we have too many fans who actually want us to fail so they can say, "I told you so."You are skipping years and revising history. Fisch went 1-11 then 5-7 THEN had his good year which included a LOSS to MSU. Dillingham went 3-9 last year.
Cignetti at IU is the anomaly and he was able to bring nearly his entire offensive system AND players with him from an 11-1 JMU team.
If we look like hot garbage at this time next year then maybe it’s time to worry about the future. But now we are stuck. Lebby inherited garbage and tried to patch it with mediocre portal talent. There’s no doubt he and his staff are going to have to hit a lot more than they miss this go round if he wants to stay employed.
Thought about that yesterdayLet this sink in. A lineman took a step up from State and went to Vandy. Ouch.
A lot of people dont want to accept itsThought about that yesterday

From where we are, it's going to take 2 more years to pull out of this unless they just go crazy buying some really good players. The coaching staff is very green and inexperienced. On top of that they don't have depth or any real talent anywhere except QB, WR, and maybe Safety? They have a LARGE hill to climb.A lot of people dont want to accept its
Not a 3-4 year turnaround time now. Its one maybe two. Have to have a talent evaluator and money.
Yep. Thst is my point. I guess my post was somewhat convoluted. The teams having the MOST success are the ones who hired sitting Head Coaches, not coordinators to be the Head Coach. But not State. Only 1 time in 40 years has State hired a head coach away from another P5, G5 or FCS school. Leach!Drinkwitz was HC at App st before he went to Columbia. FYI.

Maybe State should try a "new" approach. Like hiring a successful HC away from a good G5 or even a really good FCS.The coaches we hit on leave or die. EMSTATE
Nobody here enjoys watching MSU lose. I honestly don’t know how some of you form these ridiculous opinions. Losing sucks ***. 17ing Peaches doesn’t even really want MSU to lose. Deep down, I don’t even think @L4Dawg wanted Leach to lose.Don't waste your time with logic, reason and facts, we have too many fans who actually want us to fail so they can say, "I told you so."
