What is worse than going 3 of 16 on third down conversions?

Every play was either Relf, Ballard, or Perkins up the gut except for the one pass play thrown to the los in the middle of their defense. After the play it looked like Mullen was yelling in his headset, if you're going to throw it, 17in throw it, if you're going to run it, 17inrun it.

If we don't stop this predictable, vanilla up the middle stuff that we're doing right now, we'll be lucky to win 6. It worked last year because we had a serviceable O-line that avoided injury. This year we have a average-at-best O-line that is being eaten up by injuries. Every time we went outside against LaTech we got 6+ yards. We've got the speed, but we have to get them out in space. Just my thoughts.

That equals 40%... which from what I can tell is maybe the worst percentage we've had in recent years (including the croom years).

7 field goals in the redzone. That matches how many redzone FGs we kicked all of last year. Got to figure out a way to get those last 20 yards. No sense in being this bad - especially when you have a dual-threat QB.
