I like them in the crock pot. I've also done them in the oven and then finished them off on the grill.
No issues with doing ribs that way. It’s easy and relatively pain free.

I refuse to recognize July 4! July 2 is the actual day when the resolution to separate from England was approved. July 4 was the date when minor revisions to the DOI were completed.

Happy July 2 all!
Well we can start recognizing July 2 in a far different way now. The first full day of the end.

So, I’m going to smoke some fat, juicy wieners tonight. I just realized that I bought “European Style” brioche buns to stick my wieners in. “European Style” on the 4th of July. I’m such an a$$hole. 😞

You’re putting your wiener in some European buns tonight, nice work.

Tomorrow we are off to Wyoming/South Dakota for a couple weeks. We've been to Yellowstone and the Tetons, looking forward to driving the Beartooth Highway again.

New places for us will include the Bighorn Mts, Devil's Tower, Black Hills, Mt Rushmore and Badlands NP.
Did not expect to see Bill and Hilary Clinton flying on our commercial flight from Newark to Jackson Hole last evening. Bill was in good spirits greeting everyone. Hilary wouldn't look at anyone and seemed miserable. It wasn't a big jet either, we figured 5 or 6 secret service were on board. It was an interesting way to start our trip, weather looks great this weekend.

JH is my favorite place on earth! Check out the Mangy Moose, Gun Barrel Saloon and cheesesteaks at Gilley’s. The owners are from Philly.

No. You are a loyalist to the Crown.

But we already knew that.

I worked today so yesterday was an odd Thursday day off. Once I retire the end of this year every day will be Saturday and I cannot wait.

In the cold weather I would set up the crock pot to make ribs while I was out all afternoon, or.....if the PSU game was a night game, I would have ribs ready to go when the game kicked on.
A smoker or grill doesn't care what the weather is like outside! The snow melts when it hits either when they're hot. Crock pots are for chili and hot wing dip. Man cards are about to be revoked. @laKavosiey-st lion you're first on the list to turn yours in!

Weird. You would think they could afford NetJets. 🤷‍♀️

If interested, this trip was a great time and met our expectations.

Awesome… no bear?

No bears on this trip, but we've seen plenty over the years. At first we thought this was a Prarie rattler, but weren't sticking around to find out. Only ones on this trail in Wind Cave NP, he was in the tree on the way up, climbing down the stump on the way down. After researching, this was actually a Bull snake, they can grow to 8 ft long. They have similar characters to the rattler, although not venomous.

Not necessarily in this order. One theme throughout this trip was how many places were understaffed. It was really bad a couple times. Last time in Jackson Hole we ate at the Mangy Moose, I knew it sounded familiar. Everything was crazy busy on the 4th weekend. I would never stay in West Yellowstone, the traffic for 14 miles heading into the park was mostly bumper to bumper at 10:30am on Thursday the 18th. Thankfully we were going in the opposite direction.

WYOMING

Jackson:

StillWest Brewery and Grill - Solid lunch and good beers. Right across the street from the Snow King gondola. Sat on the deck, great views.

Pinky G's Pizzeria - Good, but not great. They were on Triple D 10 years ago.

Roadhouse Pub - Good beer, did not eat.

Grand Tetons: Dornan's Pizza and Pasta Co. We stayed in Dornan's cabins for the first 3 nights, nice complex. Have to say, the bison bolognaise was pretty good.

Buffalo: The Occidental Saloon - We stayed in the hotel. It doesn't get anymore western authentic than this place. It was like going back in time 100 years. Good food and the karaoke was very entertaining.

Cody:

Cody Craft Brewing - Good beers

Pat's Brew House - Good food, but we waited forever to get our food. The place was packed.

Hulett (Devil's Tower):

77 Steakhouse and Saloon - Easily the most upscale place we ate. On the grounds of the Golf Club at Devil's Tower, very exclusive club. The Bison ravioli was excellent.

SOUTH DAKOTA

Custer:

Buglin' Bull Bar - More of a sports bar. Had our own tv in the booth watching Phils-Dodgers. Thankfully because the service again was so slow. Food was decent.

Gold Pan Saloon - Most disappointing meal of the trip. The ribs were not very good.

Interior (Badlands NP):

Wagon Wheel Bar - Great dive bar, a mix between locals and tourists, friendly staff. Two miles from the Badlands entrance. The pizza isn't world class but it hit the spot. Would definitely go back.

Sturgis:

Sturgis Brewing Co. - Stopped in for lunch passing through town. Nice, big and new. I thought the beer was only ok, but the food was good.

MONTANA

Cooke City:

Miner's Saloon - Another great dive bar in a tiny town separating Yellowstone and the Beartooth Highway. Bison burgers were spot on, good beer selection.

Red Lodge:

Red Lodge Ales: Nice modern brewery, very good food and beer. My only pet peeve, I hate when they bring all the food out at once.

Gardiner:

The Wonderland Cafe - So good the first night, we returned the next. The highlight for me was the wild game chili with elk and bison.

Bozeman:

Storm Castle Cafe: Excellent lunch here, we had the items that were featured on Triple D, the Monte Cristo and the Po Campo. I can see why the place is packed. Right across the street from Montana State.
