Football - 1984 vs Tulane in the Superdome.

Baseball - 1985 SEC Tournament championship vs UGA at Alex Box.

We lived in New Orleans for a few years when I was a kid.

First game: 1970 Texas Tech on campus (I was a high school senior ) winner 20-16 QB Joe Reed dicing them up.

First game as a State student: 1971 Florida, Jackson 13-10 win. Probably the proudest moment ever as a Bulldog. Florida fans were stunned.

First campus game as a State student: 1971 Vandy 19-49. Vandy put us in our place with a skull dragging. Marked the beginning of the end for Coach Shira.

1955. I was 4. Football game on campus. I don’t remember who we played or whether we won (I was 4). I just remember it was a day game. All games on campus back then were day games because - no lights.

The flashback mental picture I have was that my dad bought me a toy souvenir from one of the vendors outside the stadium. It was a mechanical pencil that looked like a miniature rifle about 6” long. I kept that thing for years but it’s been lost now for decades. I wish I still had it because the memory of it reminds me of the time I was a little boy with my dad.

Now my dad is gone and I have 10 grandchildren. They all live not near but when they’re here visiting and we’re playing a home game, I always try to take them and buy them a souvenir.

I am blessed.

1973 also

‘73 versus Vanderbilt in football.

We won 52-21.

It’s been downhill ever since.

Edit to add: I was also at that Navy game.

Against Florida at the vet.

Although, I've been told I was at another(s) I don't remember.

One of my earliest memories of State sports was us playing auburn at home under croom. I remember looking up at the scoreboard and it showed we were down 27-0. I have no idea what the final score ended up being.

My parents took me to a couple of games when I was really little that I don’t really remember, but the first one I do remember was the 1999 LSU football game. We were in the nosebleeds and it was really cold up there.

91 Liberty. 2nd was 92 Egg Bowl. Both of those could be filed under the worst experiences thread.

It was very cold, but I'm putting the 2015 Arkansas game in Fayetteville and the 2013 Egg Bowl in front of it, along with the Independence Bowl.

1994 Baseball 2-game home series with UAB. I remember them snapping our 15 or 16 game winning streak when we were ranked number 1. Lost the first game and won the second game.

My first MSU football game was Auburn at Scott Field in 1994. I was in high school and snuck into the student section with a family friend who was a State student. We were 3-1 heading into that game and laid an egg on national television.

Nov. 9, 1974, vs. Auburn in Jackson. My parents went to small, private schools, and we were not a college football family. The Auburn game was my 10th birthday, and I asked to go as my birthday present.

This was the game that caused Shug Jordan to start the campaign to ban cowbells. Auburn won, but they cheated. As usual.

Bad memory demonstrated here

As a noyscout, I ushered several games at memorial stadium in the early 1960s. The most vivid memory I have was A basketball game we went to in the old quanset hut gym in 1962 ro 63. Was the loudest, most out of control fan grouping I was ever a part of. My head ache from the cowbells lasted a couple of days. It was great.

1973 football vs. Florida in Jackson. My 18th birthday. I don’t remember who the FL QB was but they had Carlos Alvarez, all American WR and we broke his leg.

Cal Poly October 2 1976. I was 14 and didn't see them again till the late 80's through 2000's. I went as a freshman with our football team.

1963 vs Auburn in Jackson. They were ranked 1 or 2 and had Tucker Frederickson at RB and Jimmy Sidle at QB. Justin Canale kicked a FG (straight on) around 45 yards at the end of the game and we won 13-10 in Memorial Stadium. We went on and went to the last Liberty Bowl in Philadelphia and beat NC State. It was brutally cold causing them to move the bowl to Memphis.

I think 1993 or so. Church youth group took us. Played South Carolina with Steve Tanneyhill at QB. Don’t remember if we won or lost.

My family didn’t go to games when I was a kid so my first in person was vs Memphis in 97 as a student. Close game but Dawgs won. Been hooked since and all my boys know is MSU sports. Both made a game before they were 6 months old. My oldest sons first game, he was able to see State play as the #1 team in the nation. He doesn’t remember it, but that’s what his first game story is( better than most of ours).

1987 Baseball against Auburn

We lost in fifteen innings. I am wanting to say that Frank Thomas untied the game in the top of the fifteenth.
