I see he's a WR prospect from Mays HS in Atlanta. What are you hearing on him that links him to us?

Also, he's from the same HS as Corey Spells. Former MSU football player, considered the best player in Croom's recruiting class of 04.

saying that he is on campus and ready to play for this Fall. Apparently he ran a 4.29 forty at some workouts on campus and now is in danger of being snatched from us by other schools. Again, the chatter over there was ridiculously garbled, so I might need to get my facts straight.

Or maybe this is one of those fake prospect jokes. No clue.

He's a walk-on this year. He had offers from Georgia Tech & Kentucky...but, another receiver commited to UK and took his spot & the new coach at GT didn't uphold Gailey's offer to him, so he fell between the cracks.

He did run a 4.29 at a UGA camp, and that got some folks attention. His high school coach was former NFL LB Jesse Solomon....

You haven't heard anything yet, but you will. Noone is allowed to talk with him til August...stupid rule by the NCAA.

A little about him from Scout articles from last fall.... Interesting we were never mentioned in any of his articles...Everything pointed to him leaning towards UK, but he never signed with anyone.

<span class="storybody">The 6-foot-2, 185 pound wide receiver, who won the 110 meter dash in the Georgia High School ranks this past season</span>
<span class="storybody">In addition to the Wildcats, Heard has offers from North Carolina, Stanford and Georgia Tech. The standout in the classroom, as well as the field, Heard sports a 3.5 GPA and wants to major in architecture.</span>

<span class="storybody">Just saw his name on the roster. Probably the best HS WR prospect we've gotten on campus during Croom's tenure.

Having lived with an architecture major for an extended period of time, I keep wondering if its possible to keep up with SEC football demands and architecture demands at the same time. My buddy (the architect) spent loads and loads of time in the studio. It doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the week during football season. When would you sleep?

I'm sure its possible, but doesn't sound realistic at all. Anybody know of former football players that juggled both?</p>

Plus, look at our HS WR signees from the past 4 years...on paper, O'Neal Wilder is the only one who compares.

So, technically, he didn't have an offer even equivalent to a Corey Gardhigh, Keith Whatshisname, or Charles Bailey for instance.

Wilder is a raw talent, not a can't miss prospect. Heard may be a similar scenario.

It would really be tough in the fall when you have to travel. You would have to be uber disciplined to pull it off -- also the school of architecture would have to be cool with it.

The thing about architecture majors spending all their time at the studio, is a lot of that time is spent goofing off and socializing -- it just so happens to occur in a classroom or studio as opposed to the dorm/frat house/bar.

</p>is better than Co-Eric Riley and Tony Burks as far as talent and potential? Oooooookkkaaayyy...............

Just because he can turn a 4.2 out doesn't mean he will be a good receiver. Some of you die hards may remember a guy named Steve Mullins we had running track for us in 2004 -05. He won the SEC championship in the 100 over the current USA number one olympic qualifyer Tyson Gay. He ran a 9.96 100 and I saw him with my own two eyes run a 4.1 on a touch pad and laser timer. Croom inquired to Al Schmidt about him returning punts. Steve couldn't catch crabs in a ***** house. He was fast as hell but no use in a sport that requires a lot more than raw speed.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the guy is a phenom but I am not going to sell the farm and get kool-aid drunk over a walk on.

I said "HS WR prospects" Tony and Co-Eric were JUCO recruits. Dipshit. I'm not saying he's going to be great, but considering some of the HS WR's we've brought in this guy doesn't look half bad.

No way anyone juggles architecture and SEC football at the same time. I had a friend who played women's soccer (which we can all agree would be a lot less demanding). She was extremely organized and still had a rough time. She never slept during the season.

Architecture School isn't that hard, it's just time consuming and without any lulls. Progress is expected every other day so you cannot procrastinate for weeks and cram for a test at the last minute. Self discipline is a must. I probably spent about 60 hours a week in that building (including classes) and I did not socialize all that much- and what little I did I can assure you did not resemble anything that happened in a bar or frat house.

Hmm... Can't say I do, but I have heard of Aubr<span style="font-weight: bold;">e</span>y Bell.

I'll say again... This guy may never play a snap or catch a pass at MSU, but his combination of size and speed is a welcomed addition to our football team. Watch his youtube video, and I know...I know...it's just a highlight tape, but he shows some serious speed and the ability to catch the ball.

You got busted for being a dubmass and you still try to deflect it on the other poster. He clearly said HS WR from the start and you pull out Tony Burks & Co-Eric Riley. Despite the idiocy of naming two JUCOs, you apparently also forget what a stellar season Co-Eric had last year (8 catches).

Then there is this gem:
Let me know when he leads the team in receptions. And by the way do you even know who Aubry Bell is?
Here are Aubrey's stats by the way: a scintillating 14 catches last season and 24 and 0 TDs for his 3 year career. Furthermore, Bell was a Rivals 2* prospect coming out of high school, so he doesn't fit into the hyped player that turned out to be a bust (say like, I don't know, Culberson) By the way, Bell was tied for fourth on the team in receptions last season and a (GASP) walkon Jamayel Smith led the team with 33.

Nice work. Your and idiot, dubmass.

At least Bell had offers out of high school. Your over hyped you tube sensation can't say that. So I missed an E. Big deal, get over it. You <17> up in every other one of your posts and do I call you out? No.

The fact is that this kid will be carrying Bell's jock next year. If we hadn't had a fur merchant, ghetto Leprechaun and an Ambercrombie model at quarterback he may have been utilized.

The fact is that if you are going to buy into all of this hype over a walk on your sir are an "idiot, dubmass."</p>

For what it's worth...Aubrey's other claimed offers: Kentucky, Louisville and Alabama State. Corey's other claimed offers: Kentucky, Ga Tech, and UNC. I say "claimed" because sometimes these "offers" listed on recruiting websites aren't legit.</p>

your status as an idiotic dubmass with every post.
At least Bell had offers out of high school. Your over hyped you tube sensation can't say that.
Here again, you are deflecting because your a dubmass. I never made a single mention of whether or not Heard had offers or whether Bell did. I proved your idiocy by "highlighting" the stats of the players you chose to hold up as examples..
So I missed an E. Big deal, get over it.
I'm not the one that was cracking on your spelling, that was the other poster. However, it is funny as hell that you are getting pissed about someone correcting your mistakes when that is one of your favorite defenses of your idiocy.
The fact is that this kid will be carrying Bell's jock next year. If we hadn't had a fur merchant, ghetto Leprechaun and an Ambercrombie model at quarterback he may have been utilized.
I'm sure this is the problem. Bell has been held down entirely because he never had a real QB to throw to him. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with Bell.
The fact is that if you are going to buy into all of this hype over a walk on
The fact is that I have not bought into any hype over this walkon. In fact, I have not said one thing about him. I have only pointed out your blatant & repeated idiocy.

Well I hope you had fun doing it. Once again you hijack a thread to go off on a rant on a nameless faceless message board. Keep hiding our insecurities behind your keyboard buddy. And you wonder why nobody respects anything you say on this board........

How old are you anyways? Do you have to rebutt EVERY single thing that someone says to you? And why are you so defensive all the time? Geesh.</p>

I would never have corrected you for missing the "e", but you made it a point to correct me for not putting a space between "dipshit." I figured if it was important enough for you to note my error, then you might want to have your spelling corrected as well.

Good God, I couldn't agree more. Those 2 idiots are arguing over one of two positions (the other being QB) that Crooms has yet to even acknowledge in his horrible West Crap Offense.

Who gives a ****. We could trot out Peyton Manning and Eric Moulds to run the West Crap and McCroomvey would find a way to f it up.
